What made you write God, Girlfriends, and
Chocolate with your girlfriends?
Stories can teach us lessons, or bring us to
a different place, when facts aren't enough. I've found by listening to
women in my audiences or coaching sessions, that a story will help them hear
and feel God’s message or lesson much quicker and more clearly than telling
them, “Here are the 3 things you need to do to get closer to God.” My journey
through life is similar to the journeys of so many women. My prayer is that
women will laugh, be encouraged, and embrace their faith even more deeply as
they are reminded that God knows our story.
AND…the stories in this book remind us that
every story matters. You don’t have to accomplish things that make
headline news. A part of your life, or chapter in your story, may be just
the encouragement that someone needs.
How does Faith play into your writing?
I love God. When I write, I share my life’s
lessons – the good, the bad, and the “You’ve got to be kidding me!” – that
challenge my faith, bring me closer to this amazing God who loves us so much,
and help me become the person God created me to be.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Jeremiah 29:11-13, “’For I know the plans I
have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and
pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you
seek me with all your heart.’”
What are you writing now?
I’m having a blast with my God, Girlfriends,
& Chocolate blog postings at http://www.gayelindfors.com/.
It’s the women I connect with that make this such a fun adventure. Each week
readers see 4 posts: a prayer on Sunday to lead us into the week, Mondays: HOPE
for the journey (God). Wednesdays: ENCOURAGEMENT for the journey (Girlfriends).
Fridays: RESOURCES for the journey (Chocolate). And subscribers receive an
e-newsletter each weekend.
Can you tell us your favorite Chocolate?
Oh…just one?? M&Ms, Dove milk
chocolate, and Haagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream.
Do you have a blog or website?
Tell us about your hobbies other than
writing.
Reading,
listening to jazz, laughing with my sisters and girlfriends.
Mary, I love the fact that you always cover all the bases. I know that when you do an interview with an author you'll provide us with the appropriate amount of information to make us want to read the book. This one is no exception. Thanks for the intro to Gaye's book, and thanks for offering another giveaway!
