Amazing Truths By Michael Guillen 2 Book Giveaway!

Does science discredit the Bible, God, religious faith? Absolutely not, says Dr. Michael Guillen, former Harvard physics instructor and Emmy-winning ABC News Science Editor. In Amazing Truths, he uses his entertaining, down-to-earth storytelling skills to reveal ten astonishing truths affirmed by both ancient Scripture and modern science that answer some of our biggest questions: Can faith really move mountains? Does absolute truth exist? Are humans truly unique? Is it possible to communicate with God? How much about the universe do we actually know? How could Jesus have been fully man and fully God?
In Amazing Truths, Dr. Guillen explains that faith is not some outdated way of thinking. Faith is a necessary part of science, Christianity, and any intelligent, comprehensive, coherent worldview – vastly more powerful than even logic.
Amazing Truths will expand your mind and bolster your faith. You will see for yourself what Dr. Guillen, a theoretical physicist and devout Christian, has discovered in a lifetime of serious exploration—that science and faith are not at odds. In fact, they’re the ultimate power couple.

I was very excited about this book and I wanted to read it and enjoy it the premise is interesting to say the least.
Guillen writes in the book, no one and nothing can prove or disprove the existence of God, I am so sorry to say look around you right now, Yes right where you are sitting. See the beauty in the scenery all around you. Look at a new born baby. Look at the sun the moon.  I was not impressed with this book, in fact I was very disappointed.
It was not what I would have thought , I wanted it to be very positive and show that there truly is a God for those having trouble with faith.
Guillen doesn't understand theology very well in my opinion.
I am a huge fan of books that share the positive parts of the Bible. The science part of this book was very interesting and informative.
I gave this book 3 stars and I am so sorry that I did not care for this book.

With both parents avid readers, it's no surprise that Amanda Cabot learned to read at an early age. From there it was only a small step to deciding to become a writer. Of course, deciding and becoming are two different things, as she soon discovered. Fortunately for the world, her first attempts at fiction, which included a play for her fifth grade class entitled "All About Thermometers," were not published, but she did meet her goal of selling a novel by her thirtieth birthday. Since then she's sold more than thirty novels under a variety of pseudonyms. When she's not writing, Amanda enjoys sewing, cooking and - of course - reading.

I loved both of the first books in the Texas Crossroads series Bluebonnet Lake and Firefly Valley. That being said book number three On Lone Star trail was fantastic. I love the Love triangle and trying to figure out who Gillian was going choose. I was always rooting for the under dog.
I did love the ending it turns out wonderful.
The Characters show up from the first two books which makes me super happy. They are all characters that you can easily love.
This was without a doubt a 5 star book. I HIGHLY recommend. Don't miss this series, Contemporary Romance lovers.

The Gift for all People By Max Lucado

The Gift for All People is a celebration of God's gift of salvation wrapped in a collection of inspirational stories. These stories will help Christians comprehend and treasure the assurance of their salvation and will help non-Christians realize and embrace the gift of abundant, eternal life in Jesus Christ. The concluding story, written especially for this book, urges readers to give their lives to Jesus Christ and shows them how to do so. This book will provide Christians with a unique, warm, and attractive presentation of the gospel to give to non-Christian family or friends.

In just under two decades of writing, Max Lucado has accomplished more than most writers hope for in a lifetime. Most of his books have appeared on one or more best seller lists, including those published by the "New York Times," "USA Today," "Publishers Weekly," and the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA). Aside from hardcover books, Lucado's writings have also been published as children's books, videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, music CDs, mass paperback booklets, apparel, giftware, bookmarks, calendars, study Bibles, workbooks, curricula, and plush products. In spring 2003, Hallmark/Dayspring Cards launched a new gift card line featuring excerpts from Lucado's writings--and has already sold more than one million cards.

The Gift For All People is a splendid read. The Gift is an old book with a new cover. It is in a very easy to read format. The chapters are very short and can be considered short stories. It is also a book that is for any believer, whether they are new to the faith or a seasoned Christian. It would also make a great gift for a struggling believer, or someone on the verge of salvation. The message is simple in its delivery, God's grace reaches to us all no matter who or where we are. In the last chapter of the book there is a call to salvation. Once I started reading, I found that I just couldn't put it down. Lucado takes us through personal stories and the events around and during the crucifixion of Christ to teach us about the greatest gift of all. I would challenge anyone to read this book.
I gave this book 5 stars. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I said YES By Emily Maynard Johnson

When her high-profile search for romance led Emily Maynard to dead end after dead end, real love finally found her.
Millions know Emily Maynard Johnson from her unprecedented double appearances on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Millions also know that neither of the relationships from those shows lasted much longer than a commercial break.
Overcome with embarrassment following her nationally televised failures at romance, Emily finally committed her heart to the only one she knew would never leave her empty and alone. Abandoning her desire to be chosen by men and finding peace in the fact that she was already chosen by God, Emily found the joy she had been looking for in serving God.
In I Said Yes, Emily tells the story of her life before and after reality TV fame, describing the profound new reality she discovered when she forsook fame in favor of the Lord. At the end of a long, fruitless search for a man, this courageous young woman found the truest love of all waiting right in front of her. To that love, Emily said yes.

Emily Maynard Johnson is best known for her appearances on ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. She lives with her daughter, Ricki, and her husband, Tyler, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she writes a popular fashion blog for InStyle.com, manages her website and blog, and designs and markets a successful jewelry line.

My guilty pleasure is watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. (Don't judge me) So When I found out that Emily Maynard had written a book I was really excited to read it.
She was not blessed to have found love on either one of the shows so I was wondering what she had been up to since going to back to North Carolina to live her life with her daughter Ricki.
Now the fact that she was from West Virginia which is where I was from and now lived in North Carolina Which is where I now live had nothing to do with me loving her.
She was a lost soul and you could tell it, she has suffered a lot in her young life and I felt a connection to her because I to have suffered great loss in my life.
She tells about what she has been through and I just felt such a connection to her. If given the chance she and I could be really good friends.
I love that her story has a happy ending, I love that she found Jesus and has a real relationship with him.
This is a book that I plan on keeping and rereading many times over.
I gave this book 5 stars and I really enjoyed every page of this story. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. She is the author of over 60 books with more than 7 million copies sold. Many of her books have landed on the top bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, Publisher's Weekly, CBA, ECPA, and CBD. Wanda is considered one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre, and her work has been covered by national publications, including Time Magazine and USA Today.
Wanda's fascination with the Amish culture developed when she met her husband, Richard, who grew up in a Mennonite church, and whose family has a Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Meeting her new Mennonite sister-in-laws caused Wanda to yearn for the simpler life. In their travels, she and her husband have become close friends with many Amish people across America. Wanda's desire to explore their culture increased when she discovered that her great-great grandparents were part of the Anabaptist faith.

All of Wanda's novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Many of her books are well-read and trusted by the Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.
Wanda's primary attraction to the Amish is their desire to live a devout Christian life that strives to honor God, work hard, and maintain close family ties. Whenever she visits her Amish friends, Wanda finds herself drawn to their peaceful lifestyle, sincerity, and close family ties, which is in stark contrast to the chaos and busyness that plagues so many modern "Englishers." Time and time again, Wanda loses her heart in the Amish life, and she hopes her readers will, too. For more information, visit: www.WandaBrunstetter.com

I LOVED this book from page one. Of course I have never read a book by Wanda that I did not love with that being said, I read this book straight through and I must say it was fantastic. Priscilla was like a friend to me and I loved her story. It is not a predictable Amish story. I never saw the end coming I had it all wrong but it turned it just as it was suppose to.
I loved that this story went right along with the first two books in the Prairie State Friends series and you get to catch up with characters from the first two books in the series.
I did not care however for Priscilla's mom but other than her you are going to love the friends in this story. I also loved that we got to pick up on Adam and his  long lost mom Cora. You will love this part of the story.
I gave this book 5 stars two times and I highly recommend it.

The Gospel According to Ruth By Kevin Foster

The Gospel According to Ruth: A Season of Harvest is an inspiring devotional that draws out many metaphors found in the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. Leaving Moab to return to Bethlehem was not a journey made with much hope but God drew them to Bethlehem His house of bread to provide for them and all the world. Filled with Scriptural applications, this harvest-themed devotional will guide your soul on a 121-day passage.

There are four major divisions within this devotional that explores the Christian calling, the Christian labor, the Christian rest and finally, Christian marriage in the Lord.

This devotional study in the book of Ruth has over 1000 related bible verses. The seven major feast of Israel are surveyed along with the Promised Land from Bethlehem, Jericho, the Jordan River, the Dead Sea and the wilderness crossing.

Before his medical career, he lived in Liberia, West Africa, with a medical missionary doctor who was a student of the Bible and a teacher of God's Word. Kevin also attended the African Bible College (A.B.C.) and had a traveling film ministry. He has traveled through the United States and sixteen countries part of a global skateboard, Bible-teaching ministry, speaking and educating youth on the importance of loving God and living by the Word of God. Back in his hometown, Kevin and his team started a house Bible study fellowship that continued for over twenty years. When he's not practicing medicine, he can be found spending time enjoying his family, preaching, and teaching at churches, Bible studies, and small Deaf groups. He lives in the United States with his wife and their four children.

This was a different devotional than what I am used to. It was more of a learning devotional Bible study. You get a lot of great information in a small study for 121 days.
Foster spells it out for you in an easy to read and follow along in your Bible way.
Invest your time in this book and build your faith while studying Gods word every morning.
I suggest this for people who want to build their faith and have a  better relationship with the Lord.
I gave this book 4 stars. Give it as a gift or use it in a small group.

If I Run By Terri Blackstock GIVEAWAY!

Casey knows the truth.
But it won’t set her free.
Casey Cox’s DNA is all over the crime scene. There’s no use talking to police; they have failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she’s arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn’t matter anymore.
But what is the truth? That’s the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren’t adding up. Casey Cox doesn’t fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylan’s skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isn’t guilty, why did she run?
Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylan’s damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices. The girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

Back in the Saddle By Ruth Logan Herne

The Prodigal Is Coming Home It’s been a long time since Colt Stafford shrugged off his cowboy legacy for shiny Manhattan loafers and a promising career on Wall Street. But when stock market manipulations leave him financially strapped, the oldest son of legendary rancher Sam Stafford decides to return to the sprawling Double S ranch in Gray’s Glen, Washington. He’s broke, but not broken, and it’s time to check in with his ailing father, and get his legs back under him by climbing into the saddle again.

He doesn’t expect to come home to a stranger pointing a loaded gun at his chest— a tough yet beautiful woman that Sam hired as the house manager. Colt senses there’s more to Angelina Morales than meets the eye and he’s determined to find out what she’s hiding...and why.

Colt’s return brings new challenges. Younger brother Nick has been Sam’s right-hand man at the ranch for years and isn’t thrilled at having Colt insert himself into Double S affairs. And the ranch’s contentious relationship with the citizens of Gray’s Glen asks all the Stafford men to examine their hearts about what it truly means to be a neighbor.  And as Wall Street recovers, will Colt succumb to the call of the financial district’s wealth and power—or finally the courage to stay in the saddle for good?
