Jane of Austin By Hillary Manton Lodge

Just a few years after their father’s business scandal shatters their lives, Jane and Celia Woodward find themselves forced out of their San Francisco tea shop. The last thing Jane wants is to leave their beloved shop on Valencia Street, but when Celia insists on a move to Austin, Texas, the sisters pack up their kid sister Margot and Jane’s tea plants, determined to start over yet again.

But life in Austin isn’t all sweet tea and breakfast tacos. Their unusual living situation is challenging and unspoken words begin to fester between Jane and Celia. When Jane meets and falls for up-and-coming musician Sean Willis, the chasm grows deeper.

While Sean seems to charm everyone in his path, one person is immune – retired Marine Captain Callum Beckett. Callum never meant to leave the military, but the twin losses of his father and his left leg have returned him to the place he least expected—Texas.

In this modern spin on the Austen classic, Sense and Sensibility, the Woodward sisters must contend with new ingredients in unfamiliar kitchens, a dash of heartbreak, and the fragile hope that maybe home isn't so far away.

My Thoughts...
Jane Austin Fan? Sense and Sensibility fan? Then you are going to LOVE this modern spin. Author Lodge has a passion for Jane Austin and you can see it on every page of this fresh read.
Characters are so real and charming. I would love to see this book made into a movie. The romance alone in this book is so worth the read.  Callum the hero is swoon worthy, in my book.
The story is one I will cherish for a long time. This book will stay on my personal book shelf.
Author Lodge is a foodie at the end of some of the chapters are some sweet recipes.
I gave this book 5 stars two times. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Together at the Table By Hillary Lodge Giveaway!

Three months ago, Juliette D’Alisa’s world changed.

In a bittersweet series of events, her mother’s health took a turn for the worse. Juliette and her brother opened their restaurant together to rave reviews, but her romance with Memphis immunologist Neil McLaren ended in anger and tears.

As autumn sweeps into the Pacific Northwest, Juliette feels that she’s finally on the cusp of equilibrium. The restaurant continues to thrive, and her family is closer than ever. She and sous-chef Adrien are seeing each other, both in and out of the kitchen. Just when she thinks her world might stop spinning, a trip to the waterfront lands a familiar face into her path.

Rather than dwell on her personal life, Juliette throws herself into work and research. After reading her grandmother’s letters from war-torn Paris, she still wants to know the full story –  and she’ll travel across countries and oceans to find it.

But even Juliette can’t outrun the man who stole her heart. As she finally uncovers the truth about her family history, what will it mean for her own chances at lasting love?

I loved Jules and Neil they were the highlight of this book for me. You are going to love their story.
Of course everything is better around a table of great food.
This being the third book in the Two Blue Doors series it can be read as a stand alone. But I  would suggest reading all three books in the series because they are all great.
I gave this book 5 stars and I HGHLY recommend it.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

Reservations for Two By Hillary Manton Lodge

A culinary concoction of taking chances and finding love in the most delectable places Food writer-turned-restaurateur Juliette D’Alisa has more than enough on her plate. While her trip to Provence might have unlocked new answers to her grandmother’s past, it’s also provided new complications in the form of Neil McLaren, the man she can’t give up.   Juliette and Neil find romance simple as they travel through Provence and Tuscany together, but life back home presents a different set of challenges. Juliette has a restaurant to open, a mother combating serious illness, and a family legacy of secrets to untangle – how does Neil, living so far away in Memphis, fit into to her life?   As she confronts an uncertain future, Juliette can’t help but wish that life could be as straightforward as her chocolate chip cookie recipe. Can her French grandmother’s letters from the 1940’s provide wisdom to guide her present? Or will every new insight create a fresh batch of mysteries?

Book number two in the Two Blue Doors series was a much awaited book , I was left hanging in book one and could not wait to get my hands on book number two.
I have to say that book number two left me hanging again, I'm not real sure about cliff hangers. I want to know what the key is to and how the mom is doing. I might die waiting for book three to get here.
Lodge has a way of writing and leaving you wanting more and feeling like you are right there in the midst of it all.
I gave this book 4 stars and think you will enjoy it.

Make sure that you read everyone of the letters that Juliette found!

A Table by the Window By Hillary Manton Lodge

Heirloom recipes, family secrets…and a chance for love

The youngest heir to a French-Italian restaurant dynasty, food writer Juliette D’Alisa has spent her life negotiating her skill with words and her restaurant aspirations. When her brother Nico offers her a chance to open a restaurant together, she feels torn—does she really have what it takes? Should she risk leaving her journalism career?

After the death of her grandmother, Juliette discovers an antique photograph of a man who looks strikingly like her brother. As the truth behind the picture reveals romance and dark secrets, Juliette struggles to keep the mystery away from her nosy family until she can uncover the whole story.

Inspired by her grandmother’s evolving story, Juliette resolves to explore the world of online dating. To her surprise, she finds a kindred spirit in Neil McLaren, a handsome immunologist based in Memphis, Tennessee. With a long-distance relationship simmering, Juliette faces life-shifting decisions. How can she possibly choose between a promising culinary life and Neil, a man a world away in more ways than one? And is it possible her Grandmother’s story can help show the way?

I am a fan of Hillary's, I really enjoyed her Amish fiction books. I could not wait to read her new romance.
I was not disappointed well maybe that is not all true, I loved the characters and I really enjoyed the recipes in each chapter. I did however get a little upset at the end of the book Hillary left me wanting more and she left me hanging.
I have to wait for book two, Reservation for Two in the Family Secrets and Heirloom Recipes series.
This is a series that you will want to read all of the books at once. The writing and the storyline is so engaging you will not want to wait for the next book to come out.
I gave this book 5 stars, I recommend this book.
