Shattered Sanctuary By Nancy Mehl

Was this the last thing she'd ever see? Would she be able to make things right before it was too late?

"God . . ." was all she got out before he lunged toward her.

Grappling with the aftermath of a tragic incident that altered her life, ex-police officer and bestselling mystery author Erin Delaney finds solace in the tranquility of a cabin nestled deep in the Smoky Mountains. But her restful stay is shattered when cries pierce the night, hinting at a lurking presence haunting the woods. When local police chief Adrian Nightengale seeks her help with a carefully arranged murder scene, she is thrust back into the world of crime solving. As they delve into the investigation, Erin's intuition reveals chilling truths about the killer's motives and strategically perfected methods.

Joined by the enigmatic Kaely Quinn-Hunter, a former FBI behavioral analyst, Erin not only embarks on a quest to stop the merciless serial killer, but also confronts the revived ghosts of her past. In a race against time, Erin must defeat her own demons while outmaneuvering a cunning killer or risk becoming the next victim in this deadly game of cat and mouse.

All of Nancy's novels have an added touch - something for your spirit as well as your soul. "I welcome the opportunity to share my faith through my writing," Nancy says. "It's a part of me and of everything I think or do. God is number one in my life. I wouldn't be writing at all if I didn't believe that this is what He's called me to do. I hope everyone who reads my books will walk away with the most important message I can give them: God is good, and He loves you more than you can imagine. He has a good plan especially for your life, and there is nothing you can't overcome with His help."

My Thoughts...
I was immediately involved in the two main characters. They both brought something different to the table, but they connected, and I connected with them.
This is Mehl's best book yet and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I always get sucked in to Mehls books and can't stop reading them. I'm a little bit sad this is the final book in the Ryland and St Clair series. I have read all three. It seems I always hate to fight my husband to read them first when the books hit the door.

Cold Threat by Nancy Mehl

Twenty years ago, several people were murdered in Des Moines, and the only evidence left behind was a snowman ornament hanging ominously on a tree in the victims' front lawns. With a suspect behind bars, the killings have come to an end--or so everyone thought. But now crimes with a similar MO are happening in a small Iowa town, and a local detective believes the killer is back and ready to strike again.

With little time left on the clock before they have another murder on their hands, private investigators River Ryland and Tony St. Clair must work alongside Tony's detective father to find evidence that will uncover an evil that has survived far too long. As the danger mounts and the suspect closes in, it will take all they have to catch a killer--before he catches one of them.

My Thoughts...

I sit in anticipation waiting for the Nancy Mehl Suspense to come out because she never disappoints me. Again I am right. Mehl's new novel Free Fall is a captivating story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The main characters develop further in Free Fall. Alex is a strong female character that you fall in love with on the pages.   Mehl is really good at incorporating God, Faith and love in her books. This one is no different. It is one of the things that makes Mehl one of my favorite authors.
4 stars for this third book in the series.

My Thoughts...
I honestly love Nancy Mehl's book. I look forward to reading them whenever they come out. Dead Fall is one that I have patiently been waiting for. I love the character development, Nancy does that so well. The main character is someone everyone can love. She is a strong female figure but she knows she has room to grow and strives to be the person she is meant to be, I enjoyed the suspense and action that this book provided.  I was captivated from the first chapter until the end. I am hoping for a third in this series.
I gave this book 4 stars. And I recommend it.

There are very few authors that when I get a book I know I am in for a treat. Nancy Mehl is one of those few. I really enjoyed Night Fall. It was a thriller that kept me captive until the end. I rarely start a book and be unable to put it down but I read this in one sitting.  The plot was infallible and entertaining. I have a short attention span and if a book slows down I loose interest. Night Fall held my attention. The characters were great and introduced very well. I love how Nancy can create a hero that is tough and still have vulnerabilities. Night fall has faith, excitement and action. It is an all around 5 star read.

Dead End By Nancy Mehl

When a body is discovered in a field in Iowa, the police uncover fourteen additional corpses ranging from 20 years old to recent. The remains point to a serial killer with an MO the authorities have seen before--Ed Oliphant, a man who has been in prison for over 20 years . . . and is Special Agent Kaely Quinn's father. After several failed interview attempts to discover if Ed has been training someone to be a copycat killer, the police turn to Kaely in St. Louis.

Kaely promised herself she would never step foot in her hometown or set eyes on her father again. She's always refused to confront her past, but if she wants to prevent any more deaths, she must come face-to-face with the man she's hated for years.
As more bodies are discovered, Kaely races against time and her own personal turmoil to uncover the killer. Will this most personal case yet cost Kaely her identity and perhaps even her life?

Blind Betrayal By Nancy Mehl

Deputy U.S. Marshal Casey Sloane has worked at the St. Louis Marshals office for two years and is given a routine assignment to help transport a reporter to D.C. to testify before a grand jury. Valerie, the reporter, was writing a story about an up-and-coming environmentalist who suddenly disappeared and, she later discovered, whose backers purportedly have ties to a terrorist.

When the seemingly ordinary assignment suddenly takes a shocking turn, Casey is forced to put aside her own feelings about the unexpected reappearance of a man from her past as she and two other Marshals take Valerie on the run. And as it becomes dangerously clear Valerie's testimony has even bigger implications than they knew, they'll do whatever it takes to make it out alive.

Nancy Mehl  is one of the best when it comes to Romantic Suspense.I read the first two books in the Defenders of Justice series and I must say the each book out did the other. This book to me was the best out of the series. I was hooked from the first page and the author reeled me in. There was a bit of romance in the book but it wasn't overwhelming. I have read some books that seemed like the plot took a back seat to the romance. Nancy did a wonderful job mixing everything together to make this book a  wonderful read. I recommend this book.

I read the first book in the Defenders Of Justice series and I really enjoyed reading it. Now after reading "Dark Deception" I must say Nancy stepped it up a notch with book two. There so many twist and turns you will feel like you are climbing a spiral staircase and love it. Time and time again Nancy will have you wondering how much more can your heart take. I was hooked by the first chapter. I love how she added her faith into the book. The Christian dialogue between some of the characters was just the right amount. It's not to the point to were the reader will think she is in their face with it. It is the perfect addition. The characters are developed well and are diverse.
I gave this book 5 stars. I suggest adding this to your reading list.
