What You Said To Me By Olivia Newport

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees

When 15-year-old Tisha Crowder gets caught shoplifting, attorney Nolan Duffy tries to protect her from consequences that could rattle her already troubled life. His daughter, Jillian, feels like she’s the one being punished instead—by having Tisha assigned to work with her on a backlog of genealogy files. Tisha doesn’t seem interested in taking the job seriously, and Jillian’s patience wears thin. Besides, everyone in Canyon Mines knows the Crowder family has experienced generations of brokenness. Then a sliver of hope turns up in long-ago words in plain sight, challenging shrouded assumptions about Tisha’s family. Now Jillian is the one who can walk with Tisha back to 1893 and uncover where everything went wrong in the first place—and save her from the past.

My Thoughts...
I have read the first three book in the Tree of Life series and enjoyed them all. I love DNA and family history so these are fun reads. They can be read as stand alone and you will not be missing out on anything important.
This is book 4 in the series is starts out a bit slow but it does pick up so stick with it you will be glad that you did.
I gave this book 4 stars and I cant for book number 5.

When I meet you By Olvia Newport

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees

A trunk abandoned at Denver’s Union Station more than a century ago leads Jillian and Nolan to untangle the mystery of its contents—including correspondence with the head of Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency Denver office. While Nolan digs into the legalities of the findings, Jillian searches for the descendants of a stolen identity who might not be who they think they are on Colorado ranch land. When Drew seems anxious to hear what Jillian has to say but his Great Aunt Min slams the subject closed—twice—Jillian is all the more determined to find out what happened to the woman who never claimed her luggage, why Min doesn’t want to talk about it, and what will happen for Drew if he gets the answers he seeks.

In the Cradle Lies By Olivia Newport

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees

On a solo ski vacation in Canyon Mines, Colorado, Tucker has a love-hate relationship with his wealth, spending indiscriminately while skiing fearlessly and preparing to conquer the overgrown slope of Hidden Run, a dangerous run not attempted in decades. As genealogist Jillian tries to uncover enough of Tucker’s family tree to understand his charming nature but reckless resolve, Jillian’s equally charming father, Nolan, cajoles Tucker into giving him ski lessons to get him talking about the suspicious circumstances surrounding his grandfather’s life in St. Louis in the 1930s.

On the surface, Tucker’s family’s history seems too perfect. The secret may lie in the sealed envelope Tucker carries with him at all times—even on the ski slope. When no one can find Tucker to tell him the fiancĂ©e he never mentioned turned up in Canyon Mines, they realize he must be off attempting to ski Hidden Run alone in a snowstorm. And they may be too late.

The Inn At Hidden Run By Olivia Newport

A Father-Daughter Genealogy Team Link Present to Past on Family Trees

Meri’s family has been producing doctors for so many generations that no one remembers why, so when she flunks out of medical school, she runs as far from her parents as she can get. In the small mountain town of Canyon Mines, Colorado, she takes a job at the Inn at Hidden Run B&B. And waits. It’s only a matter of time.

What she doesn’t count on is genealogist Jillian Parisi-Duffy and her father, Nolan, having her back when it takes everything she has not to bolt again but to stay and face the truth that only unfolding her family’s history will reveal. While Nolan works on keeping Meri calm—and in town—Jillian pulls out of her gems of information she doesn’t know she has and arranges the puzzle pieces.

But none of that changes the fact that Meri’s family is closing in to haul her back to her “real” life. When their arrival inflames tensions and Meri finally does bolt, Nolan and Jillian may be out of time.

The Inn at Hidden Run is the first book in the Tree of Life series. Readers will come back to backdrop of a lovely mountain town of Canyon Mines again and again to explore and celebrate unforgettable family stories that inspire them to connect with their own family histories and unique faith journey

My Thoughts...
You have to be a really good writer to write time slip books . Newport has pulled it off with out a hitch.
I have always been fascinated by genealogy so this was a good read for me. Father daughter stories fascinate me also.
This is a four book series  and I am so excited to read the next book in the series.

Colors of Christmas By Olivia Newport

Celebrate the joyful hope of the Christmas season as characters find healing in the midst of heartbreak.
New from Olivia Newport!

Christmas in Blue
In the wake of a personal loss deeper than anyone realizes, Angela plans to bypass as much of the season as possible and get through her duties as the church organist by going on autopilot. Instead, she finds herself in charge of the town’s celebration. After a mysterious young man arrives, townspeople suspect he is the reason that one set of plans after another disintegrate until little is left of their traditions. Yet Angela warms to Gabe because she suspects they share a secret—his real reason for coming to town. Even when all they have to work with is a garish supply of blue Christmas decorations, Gabe helps Angela discover the hidden beauty of hope.

Christmas in Gold
After eighty years, change is nothing new for Astrid. By the time she was twenty, she survived the destructive Nazi regime, caring for her family under brutal circumstances, moving to America, and losing her husband. At forty she was widowed again and left to build a new life with her children. Now, when she faces a move into an assisted living community and meets a young woman on the brink of despair, she resolves to stir up hope through tragedy one more time.

Olivia Newport’s novels twist through time to find where faith and passions meet. Her husband and twentysomething children provide welcome distraction from the people stomping through her head on their way into her books. She chases joy in stunning Colorado at the foot of the Rockies, where daylilies grow as tall as she is.

My Thoughts...

Two novellas and both have you getting excited for Christmas. Of the two my favorite was the first one Christmas in Gold. Newport has out done herself with this one. Both are stories of hope and that is what we need more of.
This is a feel good read and you are going to want to read it each year as you get ready for Christmas. You will feel at home with the characters.
I gave the book 4 stars. I call this book the stories of HOPE.

Gladden the Heart By Olivia Newport

When you have experienced the Holy Ghost as I have, you would see that it is difficult to turn back.”
When the lively fervor of nineteenth century revivalism endangers the staid customs of the Amish community in the lush but rugged Kishacoquillas Valley of central Pennsylvania in 1847, the Amish church must deal with a divisive question: What is a genuine spiritual experience?

The question turns personal when Susanna’s beloved cousin Noah begins preaching while under trances and even though he is not a minister he gives long sermons that attract increasing attention. Curious, she helps to keep Noah safe during his trances. At the same time Adam, Susanna's intended, feels pressure from the bishop to speak out against the ways of revivalism.

Susanna and Adam are pushed to opposite sides of a controversy that threatens their traditional Amish faith..  Now they must grapple with whether love is possible...even if they come to different conclusions.

When Noah goes missing at a time of day when he often preaches while asleep, circumstances thrust community members with divergent opinions into a crisis that demands they recognize the humanity they share regardless of beliefs.  But can strong-held opinions be softened by the truths that shape their lives?

My Thoughts...

This is book 5 in the Amish Turns of Time series. This is a bit different then what I am use to reading. It felt different to me then the first four books in the series.  I can't put my finger on it.
I did like the story of the "sleeping preachers" this is a big thing in the Amish community it seems. I love learning about new things within the church.
Newport has written  a book telling of God's grace to others. I felt her heart on the pages of this book.
I gave this book 4 stars. I suggest reading the whole series so you won't be lost.

Hope In The Land is a very good romance. The book gives us a very different look at the the great depression among  the Amish. The book is full of romance and real good drama that we have grown to love in our Amish reads. The characters are very well developed and lovable.  Newport is really good at what she does and this one will not disappoint. if you are a fan of historical fiction and Amish fiction you will enjoy this one.

Written with such grace, a romance not soon forgotten. Newport has a way of writing about the Amish that makes one think she just might be Amish not English.
I loved the storyline as well as the characters. you can not put this book down once you get started.
I had to know if they were going to rebuild the school house and if not what the reason for not rebuilding was. I was so into this book.
I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I gave this book 5 stars and recommend it. It is book three in the Amish Turns of Time series I would recommend the whole series.

Meek and Mild By Olivia Newport

The leadership in an Old Order Amish community requires shunning friends and family whose only offense is to embrace the new Protestant practice of Sunday school among the Mennonites, but teaching Bible stories to children is one of Clara Kuhns’ great joys. Clara’s on the verge of saying yes to Andrew Raber’s marriage proposal, but now he is flagrantly refusing to submit to the bishop’s authority by owning a car. When the lot falls to Moses Beachy to become the new bishop, the community waits for him to take bold steps toward change. Clara and Andrew step together into a more progressive Amish faith as the Beachy Amish take form.

Accidentally Amish is Olivia Newport's first book in her new series Valley of Choice as well as her first book. I really did enjoy it, it's two stories in one. A little historical and a little suspense all in one book! Olivia does not write a boring Amish story for sure, she writes a very accurate Amish story! I could not put the book down I read it in one sitting because I had to know what Annie was going to do with her life. I really loved Rufus also. I did cry a time or two but this was a fantastic Amish book! I can not wait until book two comes out In plain View!  I give this first  book in the series 5 stars.
