While visiting the Holy Land, Amanda answers the prayers of a stranger . . . and begins an amazing Christmas journey.
Amanda Vance is ambivalent about her husband’s idea for a big family holiday up north. Last year she planned a special Christmas in their own home, carefully preparing a nursery and the keepsake ornaments for their newborn. Now that room stands as empty as her heart.
Then a neighbor’s mishap turns into a last-minute chance for Amanda to take a much-needed vacation to tour the Holy Land.
An extraordinary turn of events allows Amanda to help answer a young mother’s plea for healing. Then, filled with a sense of awe, Amanda visits the place of Jesus’ birth. There she discovers anew the miracle of the Christ child—God incarnate as a tiny, vulnerable baby.
Her return to Florida marks a momentous shift in her soul and in her marriage as she begins to realize that her journey didn’t end in the Holy Land. And that God doesn’t just answer prayers of strangers . . . but also those of her own heart.
This is the first book I have read by Davis Bunn so I did not know what to expect. It was very good to say the least. Davis really knows how to touch your heart with his writing. Oh what a book, the healing and the friendships the forgiveness was wonderful in this book.
I have never been to The Holy Land before but after reading this book I felt as if I was really close to being there. The wailing wall was so close I could almost touch it. I hope that everyone gets a chance to read this book. A great Christmas Journey.

I have never been to the Holy Land. But would loved to be able to go there one day. Imagine being in the place that Jesus lived and walked. It would be an awesome experience and one that would be life changing. This is a book that should be read and then passed on to others to get a blessing from it.

ReplyDeletePrayers of a Stranger sounds like a tear jerker, which to me is a great book. Any author who can evoke such emotion in a book description has to be an excellent author. I'm looking forward to reading this new Christmas story. Thanks for a great review, Mary. No, I've never been to the Holy Land. It would be a great opportunity, but I know that it won't happen in my lifetime. I'll have to experience it through Amanda's eyes in this book.

DeleteA trip to the Holy Land is on my bucket list--I have not been but many from our church have gone and brought back amazing stories and insights into the places of Scripture. I think my desire is to see the Bible come to three-dimensional life and walk where Jesus walked.
