To the Moon & Back By Kathi Macias

Life had changed drastically for Rachel since the accident, but none of the changes had prepared her for what followed. She wasn’t even sure when it started. She knew only that the darkness appeared more often and lasted longer, accompanied by forgetfulness, fear, confusion…even suspicion. As a result of the accident—which she was certain was entirely her fault—her husband of nearly 45 years was now a semi-invalid, his dependence on her growing by the day. Their only child, a grown daughter named Lilly, lived hours away and was dealing with difficulties of her own, not the least of which was an unwanted divorce. Rachel, however, had no concept of Lilly’s suffering, instead believing her 35-year-old daughter was still a college coed with her entire life ahead of her.

Can this fractured family find its way to a place of healing, or will the darkness prevail, destroying them all in its unrelenting torment? Unconditional love seems to be their only hope…but how are they to get there?

My Thoughts...

A book about dementia by the timeless author we have all loved over the years.
She can take a fiction story and stick you right dab in the middle of it.
You feel like you are living out the story.
Macias gives it all away in the very beginning, when she says "God stands ready to carry you all the way".
In true Macias fashion, you will get a good clean read with God breathed reading on every page.
I hope that you will check this one out.
I gave this book 4 stars. I would recommend it to Macias fans.

A Husband's Christmas Prayer By Kathi Macias

Pastor Paul has been handed the promotion of his dreams, but his formerly supportive wife doesn't share his sentiment about moving. She liked where she was. She liked her home, church family, and coffee with friends while the kids were at day care. Why did they have to move? For the first time in their seven-year marriage, Paul feels distance growing between them. As he struggles to minister to difficult people in his congregation, he also finds he has to minister to his own family. Will it be enough in time to create a united home for Christmas?

I am a fan of Macias and I have read everyone of her books. A Husband's Christmas Prayer is a little different than her other books. While it was an enjoyable read, it was true Macias style, inspirational, clean, faith based read.
I never put it down once I opened it. Its an easy read. Great family, the characters were very true to life characters.
This read like watching a Hallmark movie. You won't stop reading until the very last page.
I gave this book 4 stars. I HIGHLY recommend this one.

Return to Christmas By Kathi Macias

Return to Christmas beautifully blends the two struggling worlds of a former marine and a little boy with attachment disorder. Former Marine Chet is having a hard time adjusting to civilian life. He doesn't need help. He needs employment. He doesn't have issues. The little boy his friends adopted has issues. But there is something about that little boy that draws him. Will the events leading up to this Christmas be able to melt his soldier heart or will he spiral into a dark depression?

I am a huge fan of Macias', I have read every one of her books and I loved them all. With that said here goes. The negative first..... This book was way to short for my liking. I wanted more of the Chet and Ryan relationship. I loved the whole book from beginning to ending the ending was fantastic.
This is just the kind of book you want to read this time of year. Love and forgiveness are both themes in this book.
Very well written and moving.
I gave this book 5 stars two times. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Put this under someone you loves Christmas Tree.

A Christmas Gift By Kathi Macias

Chiapas, Mexico, had proven to be the distraction and escape Julie needed. As a teacher, she had longed to travel and instruct abroad. Now, she was teaching and falling in love with her students. But what she didn't expect happened in the short days leading up to Christmas.  She didn’t know that her freedom would depend on Ramon, the local pastor. She didn’t anticipate the emotions this man of God would stir deep in her spirit. This Christmas Eve service would be unlike any other she had ever experienced. Would this simple man and his faith be enough to cause her to stay when she had every reason to leave?

The Singing Quilt by Kathi Macias

Jolissa Montoya believes God is calling her to work with the disadvantaged children in her inner-city neighborhood. There’s only one problem: The children wouldn’t be able to understand her. Jolissa suffers from a speech impediment and has a thick accent because Spanish is her first language. Ridiculed through much of her youth, she is quite shy and reticent to speak. She is convinced that what God has spoken to her heart is impossible. Impossible, that is, until one day when her confidante shows her a quilt—a quilt that depicts the life of a courageous woman. Can another woman’s courage move her to try the impossible and step out and follow God wherever He leads her?

The Singing Quilt is set against the backdrop of the life of Fanny Crosby, who in addition to writing hundreds of songs was also a well-known public speaker and active in Christian rescue missions despite her disability. Readers will be inspired not to let fear or a disability prevent them from answering what they think is God’s impossible call.

The Singing Quilt is the third book in the contemporary fiction “Quilt” series written by award-winning author Kathi Macias. The series focuses on various social issues, including racial and pro-life issues.

God is big enough to meet us anywhere!
There is not another author who writes with such passion and the Lord shines on every page as Kathi Macias. Kathi really loves the Lord she serves and it shows in her writing.
Forgiveness, Love, and a huge heart and love for the Lord, that is what you will find on every page of this amazing book.
I loved learning about Fanny Crosby with Jolissa. Eva is the grandma we all wish we had. These characters become like family.
Kathi, has really done her research for this book. I really enjoyed reading it and the neat thing was I learned a lot while reading this book.

Well folks Kathi has done it again, she hit the ball out of the park with her latest book. This is not a book that you would think Kathi would write, it is different then her other books. Kathi writes so that you keep on turning the pages and before you know it the book has come to an end. Her books end way to fast for me.
You are sure to love the characters and the mystery with a little romance on the side that fill the pages of Last Chance for Justice. I really enjoyed Rachel.
I recommend this book.
