Radier's Vendetta By Karen Arnpriester GIVEAWAY!

A Riveting Christian Thriller
Have your beliefs been challenged so dramatically that it could mean life or death? Charley’s were. She found herself pitted against a vicious man, a man who hated God with an absolute fury. She represented the heartache, abandonment, shame and pain that Raider endured in the name of religion. Charley was the perfect target for his vendetta against God.
Have you been left alone in a nightmare, calling out for help, but no one came? Raider was. The people and circumstances throughout his life taught Raider that if there was a God, He was indifferent and cruel, no better than his own earthly father.
If you experienced the miraculous, would you fall to your knees and trust your Creator or would your human emotions and entitlement for justice determine your responses?  Charley’s pride and anger placed her in peril. Heaven provided protection and provision through miracles, but Heaven could not protect Charley from herself.
If you witnessed the miraculous, would you believe? Raider wouldn't. His anger had destroyed all possibility of hope.
Could you forgive the unforgivable? Would you put your tormentor’s life before your own, even if they intended to take yours?  Charley could.  Her faith allowed her to eventually see her enemy through God’s eyes.
Charley and Raider, opposite ends of the spiritual spectrum, collided and discovered truths that changed them forever. This story examines tough questions that many Christians must ultimately resolve, the questions that keep many of God’s children estranged from Him.
Raider’s Vendetta is a journey that will touch your soul. A story that will inspire you to evaluate your relationship with God and the people in your life. This is a powerful message of forgiveness and salvation. The author, Karen Arnpriester, prays that this book will open hearts and minds to the limitless God who is our Father.

Cindy Woodsmall is a New York Times, CBA, ECPA, and USA Today best-selling author who has written a dozen (and counting!) works of fiction and one of nonfiction. She and her dearest Old Order Amish friend, Miriam Flaud, coauthored the nonfiction, Plain Wisdom: An Invitation into an Amish Home and the Hearts of Two Women. Cindy has been featured on ABC Nightline and on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and has worked with National Geographic on a documentary concerning Amish life. In June of 2013, the Wall Street Journal listed Cindy as the second most popular author of Amish fiction, following Beverly Lewis.

She's a veteran homeschool mom who no longer holds that position. As her children progressed in age, her desire to write grew stronger. After working through reservations whether this desire was something she should pursue, she began her writing journey. Her husband was her staunchest supporter as she aimed for what seemed impossible.

She's won Fiction Book of the Year, Reviewer's Choice Awards, Inspirational Reader's Choice Contest, as well as one of Crossings' Best Books of the Year. She's been a finalist for the prestigious Christy, Rita, and Carol Awards, Christian Book of the Year, and Christian Retailers Choice Awards.

Her real-life connections with Amish Mennonite and Old Order Amish families enrich her novels with authenticity. Though she didn't realize it at the time, seeds were sown years ago that began preparing Cindy to write these books. At the age of ten, while living in the dairy country of Maryland, she became best friends with Luann, a Plain Mennonite girl. Luann, like all the females in her family, wore the prayer Kapp and cape dresses. Her parents didn't allow television or radios, and many other modern conveniences were frowned upon. During the numerous times Luann came to Cindy's house to spend the night, her rules came with her and the two were careful to obey them--afraid that if they didn't, the adults would end their friendship. Although the rules were much easier to keep when they spent the night at Luann's because her family didn't own any of the forbidden items, both sets of parents were uncomfortable with the relationship and a small infraction of any kind would have been enough reason for the parents to end the relationship. While navigating around the adults' disapproval and the obstacles in each other's lifestyle, the two girls bonded in true friendship that lasted into their teen years, until Cindy's family moved to another region of the US.

As an adult, Cindy became friends with a wonderful Old Order Amish family who opened their home to her. Although the two women, Miriam and Cindy, live seven hundred miles apart geographically, and a century apart by customs, when they come together they never lack for commonality, laughter, and dreams of what only God can accomplish through His children. Over the years Cindy has continued to make wonderful friendships with those inside the Amish and Mennonite communities--from the most conservative ones to the most liberal.

Cindy and her husband reside near the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains in their now empty nest.

If you'd like more information or to contact her, you can go to her website: http://www.cindywoodsmall.com or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/authorcindywoodsmall

If you loved the first two books in the Amish Vines and Orchards series you are in for a real treat with this last one. It was by far the best!
You will not be able to put it down. This series was such a great escape to the long summer days. I loved getting away in this book.
I have to say I gave it 5 stars. I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series. But then again who am I fooling I love all of Cindy's Amish fiction.

With warmth and grace, Gosnell uses experiences from his own life to illustrate why prayer is so essential to our relationship with God. Kathy Herman is no stranger to the Christian publishing industry. Before becoming a bestselling author and award-winning poet, Kathy worked on staff at the Christian Booksellers Association for five years. Forever Friday By Timothy Lewis GIVEAWAY!

Every Friday, a postcard.
Every Friday, a love poem.
Every Friday for sixty years.

Adam Colby is just doing his job, sorting through the unsold Alexander belongings after the estate sale. He is unprepared for what he finds in an old photo album, overlooked by the bargain hounds and treasure hunters—six decades of postcards and poems from Gabe Alexander to his wife, Pearl. The mystery of the Alexanders’ love entices Adam, a man unhinged by divorce and puzzled by the depth of commitment that he finds in the unabashedly romantic cards.

Forever Friday invites you to travel back in time to the early twentieth century Texas Coastal Bend where a young couple—Gabe and Pearl Alexander—are swept up in a miraculous love. TIMOTHY LEWIS is an author and playwright. He has authored more than twenty plays/musicals. In addition, he teaches a beginning novel writing class at West Texas A&M University and co-directs a summer writing academy. Timothy is also a professional speaker, cowboy poet, actor, and songwriter. He drew inspiration for Forever Friday from the postcards sent between his great-aunt and great-uncle over a period of sixty years. He lives with his wife near Amarillo, Texas.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It was all over the place. I think is was because every few chapters was from the past and every few chapters was the present.
I did however really enjoy the poems.  At the beginning of all the chapters that are the past there is a poem that was on the post cards and they were the sweetest. What women doesn't want a man to write her poetry, and every Friday for sixty years. Timothy sure is a romantic at heart. He is a very good poet. Gabe and Huck will stay with you long after you read their story.
I gave this book 4 stars.
I was given a copy of the book by the publisher for my honest review.

The Amish Seamstress By Leslie Gould & Mindy Clark

Bestselling authors Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould provide an unexpected surprise in The Amish Seamstress, Book 4 in the Women of Lancaster County series, which tells the stories of young Amish women as they explore their roots, connect with family, and discover true love.
Izzy Mueller is an exceptional listener and gifted caregiver. She's also a talented seamstress. As the young woman sits with her elderly patients, she quietly sews as they share their stories. She's content with her life until circumstances reconnect her with someone she once loved. Zed Bayer, a Mennonite, is not what her family is hoping for in a spouse, and his creative interest in filmmaking is definitely at odds with her Amish upbringing.
As Izzy is swept up again in Zed and renews her friendship with his sister, Ella, she begins to ask questions about her own life--her creative longings and historical interests, her relationships and desire for romance, and most importantly, her faith. What is the path God has for her? Can she learn from the past of both her family's and Zed's--or must she forge a completely different future of her own?

I realized I wanted to be a writer at age eight, when I read my first Nancy Drew novel, The Secret of the Old Clock. Most little girl reach the end of that book wanting to be Nancy. I wanted to be the person who created the story!
The dream lay hidden for years while I became a teacher, married, had children...all the usual things. But eventually it re-surfaced, and I began to write, beginning with short children's stories for Sunday school take-home papers. It seemed a long time until that first acceptance, but eventually I began to sell. After some three hundred published short stories, I finally found the courage to work on the novel I'd always wanted to write.
Thirty-some published novels later, I still feel the same excitement every time I begin a new book--a mix of not believing I can do it combined with an overwhelming urge to see the story on the page.
A lifetime spent in rural Pennsylvania and my own Pennsylvania Dutch roots eventually led me to the books I'm writing now about the Amish. The Pleasant Valley Amish series from Berkley Books are longer, more complex emotional stories with Amish main characters, while my forthcoming HQN suspense novels are more adventure-filled books set in Pennsylvania Dutch country. I'm also writing a Love Inspired series, The Bodine Family, set on the South Carolina coast where we have a second home.
When I'm not writing, I'm busy with church activities, traveling, and spending time with my three children and six beautiful grandchildren.

Teach your Children God's Message By Patricia McCuen GIVEAWAY!

God sternly and plainly stated, "You have to go back and tell." Somehow, I understood and already knew. I still did not know how I knew, but I knew and even replied, "Yes. I know. I have to tell." Shortly after leaving her fiancé parents home located in Derry, PA, Patricia Allen and her fiancé were crushed by a fully loaded coal truck. Patricia left her body twice at the scene of the accident. In the hospital when Patricia again left the pain of her severely injured body, she was held by God. She was shown a message she is to tell. Patricia's interpretation of what she was shown is not a new message but of one that is being greatly ignored. Teach the Child. "And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up" (Deuteronomy 11:19). Society suffers greatly by ignoring this message. How this message is shown gives an insight into the understanding of the Connections between God, Humanity, and Children.

This was a very short book. So it was a fast read. But it had a powerful message.
It seems in the last year I have read a lot of memoirs and enjoyed them very much. So when asked to read and review this one I could not pass it up.
Sure am glad that I read it. All my friends need to pick up a copy of this to read, the message behind Patricia's story is one to be shared.
I gave this book 4 stars.

I got this book and read it in one day. Most of you know I have lost my whole family to cancer and recently I have had surgery for it myself. This is a book I wish my family had to read and I had before I went for my surgeries. It is a book to help calm your fears and anxiety.
The book is chalk full of fantastic information.
If you are someone you know has cancer this is a must read.
After reading this book I wish that Doctor Ryan was my oncologist. He really has it together and knows his stuff.
It is very sad to say but this is a much needed book in this day and time. I only wish that one day there will be no need for such a book when someone finds a cure for cancer but right now this is a book that most families should be reading.
I highly recommend this book.
I gave this book 5 stars.
