A retired Long Beach California police officer of 22 years (16 in uniform and 6 as a non-career officer), Janice Cantore worked a variety of assignments, patrol, administration, juvenile investigations and training. During the course of her career in uniform Janice found that faith was indispensable to every aspect of the job and published articles on faith at work, one for a quarterly newspaper called "Cop and Christ", and another for the monthly magazine "Today's Christian Woman".

With retirement Janice began to write longer pieces and several novels were born. Janice is excited and honored to now be a part of the Tyndale Publishing House family. Accused, the first installment in her new suspense offering, The Pacific Coast Justice Series, was released February 1, 2012 and kicked off a brand new chapter in her writing career. In addition to suspense and action, her books feature strong female leads. Janice writes suspense novels designed to keep you engrossed and leave you inspired.

This was my first book I have read by Cantore, but it will not be my last.
Storyline was great as was the characters, the characters are real and you just want to stay in the pages for ever.
The book did however need to be longer I hated to see it end.
Suspense's  are so good when written by someone who knows what they are doing.
I gave this book 4.5 stars. I can't wait for book two in this series now.

Hutterite Diaries By Linda Maendel

What would it be like to share all your possessions and live in Christian community? In Hutterite Diaries, Linda Maendel offers a rare glimpse into the daily routines and communal faith of her people, the Hutterian Brethren. From stories of working together to bring in the fall potato harvest to laugh-out-loud tales of sisterly love laced with revenge, Maendel invites readers into her Bruderhof, or colony, nestled on the prairie of western Canada. Here children and adults work, play, eat, and worship together, crafting a community of goods and living out an alternative to the individualism and consumerism of mainstream society.Because few outsiders know anything about the Hutterites, a Plain Christian group related to the Amish and Mennonites, this book offer a rare-glimpse into Hutterite life.

Linda Maendel is a Hutterite author, blogger, and teacher who lives in Elm River Colony outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I am well aware of the Amish but not the Hutterites so this was a fun read for me.
Linda takes you in to a day and life of the Hutterite life. She talks about their clothes how they eat their meals all together the whole community males on one side of the room and females on the other side of the room.
She tell some stories about her family and the way they have their weddings.
It was a fun read and a leaning experience.
I gave this book 4 stars. Don't expect an Amish story. Hutterites are different from the Amish and so is this book.

Jerry has been involved in church renewal, preaching, and teaching Bible studies. He lives with his wife, Tina, and their four children in Virginia.

I was so sad by this second book in the Land of Promise series. I did not see half the stuff coming my way as I was reading never before has an Amish genre writer written anything like this. I was hit hard.
It is not what you expect to read in one of Jerry's books.
Oh but you will not be able to put the book down just take some tissues with you where ever you go to read it.
I really dislike Miriam's father he is always sticking his nose where he has no business sticking it.
Miriam is so easy to love as is her Aunt and Uncle. When tragedy stuck Miriam and her family she was still my favorite character and I could not stop reading I had to find out what was going to happen next.
I gave this book 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

The Proposal At Siesta Key By Shelley Shepard Gray

A young Amish woman, yearning for freedom, crosses paths with a handsome Mennonite celebrity in a deeply moving tale of friendship and self-discovery—the second installment in the unforgettable New York Times bestselling author’s new Amish Brides of Pinecraft series.
Penny Troyer rarely disobeys her parents. In the years since her sister’s tragic death, they’ve wanted nothing more than to keep her safe…even if it means never leaving the house.
But tonight, she’s bending the rules because Michael Knoxx, the most famous member of The Knoxx Family Singers, a traveling Mennonite Evangelical family —is scheduled to speak. Penny has heard of Michael—how he lost part of his leg in a terrible accident and uses the experience to inspire others—and knows she must meet him. So, for the first time ever, Penny stands up to her parents and goes out on her own.
Though he speaks about living life to the fullest, Michael knows he needs to take his own advice. Life on the road is grueling and Michael wants to slow down, to rest…to perhaps meet someone who sees him as a man, not just a celebrity. So when a twist of fate allows him the chance to stay a little longer in Pinecraft, Michael knows God is showing him a new path, especially when he discovers how much he and Penny Troyer have in common.
But new friendships can’t stop time. Soon, Michael's time in Pinecraft will be over and he'll be back on the road. Her time with Michael has brought her happiness, but will she be able to follow her heart? Or will she be faced with the one thing she’s sure she'll never have the courage to do?

In this first book, Miriam Yoder has a secret. Her compassionate care for Amos Bland during his last days resulted in her receiving a large inheritance. When Ivan Mast indicates his intentions at romance, Miriam suspects he's discovered her hidden wealth and has plans that aren't inspired by his love for her.
Seeking a fresh start where no one knows her, Miriam accepts a teaching position in faraway Oklahoma where she meets Wayne Yutzy, a local greenhouse employee. His interest in her seems genuine and when he proposes, Miriam accepts. Happiness surely awaits the newly engaged couple....or does it?

As Waters Gone By By Cynthia Ruchti

Emmalyn Ross never thought a person could feel this alone. Sustaining a marriage with a man who’s not by her side is no easy task, especially since her husband currently resides behind impenetrable prison walls. His actions stole her heart’s desire and gave their relationship a court-mandated five-year time-out. What didn’t fall apart that night fell apart in the intervening years.

Now, on a self-imposed exile to Madeline Island—one of the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior—Emmalyn starts rehabbing an old hunting cottage they’d purchased when life made sense. Restoring it may put a roof over her head, but a home needs more than a roof and walls, just as a marriage needs more than vows and a license. With only a handful of months before her husband is released, Emmalyn must figure out if and how they can ever be a couple again. And his silence isn’t helping.

Worst of all, it becomes painfully obvious that her father is not the upright man he appears to be.

From the first emotional page, author Christine Johnson throws readers into a world of impossible choices, hidden desires, and heart-melting romance in the steamy south. Readers will cheer for Elizabeth and Rourke as they battle the odds and the elements to secure their future.

I struggled with this one for a bit. I would love the main character Elizabeth then I would dislike her, I teetered back and forth until the very end.
I would like to have gotten to know some of the characters better. There just wasn't enough details for me with some of them.
I did however like the romance and the rich history in this story.
Maybe I will get to know Elizabeth's brother Charlie in book two of the Keys of Promise series.
I gave this book 4 stars.

I Tried Until I Almost Died By Sandra McCollom

                                                                 A MUST READ

Tired of trying to measure up? Trade your anxiety and frustration for rest and relaxation.
Many of us believe that in order to please God, we have to be perfect. It’s an easy lie to buy into. In a culture that emphasizes accomplishment and ever-higher goals, we feel driven to do more, achieve more, be more. And we get caught up in the unforgiving treadmill of self-imposed rules, believing that we should, we need to, we must.   The result? Anger, frustration, and anxiety that keep us far away from the life of peace that Jesus promised.   For years, Sandra McCollom lived in this trap. Finally worn out from striving for perfection but constantly feeling like a failure, one day she prayed in desperation, begging God for help. God answered Sandra by setting her on a life-changing journey to discover the riches of His grace.   In I Tried Until I Almost Died, Sandra shares how she left behind her burden of anxiety and fear and shows you how to experience for yourself the freedom of trusting solely in the perfecting power of God’s grace.

This is a tool that needs to be everyone book shelf.  I bet most everyone can relate to most of this book.
The scripture is all laid out in the book and easy to read and understand.
I HIGHLY recommend this book. I gave it 5 stars. I can think of three friends right off the top of my head I plan on giving copies to.

Libby enlists the aid of her wilderness savvy father-in-law and her faith-walking best friend to help her search for clues to her husband’s disappearance…if for no other reason than to free her to move on.  I have said this before but I think I will say it again I'm Cynthia's biggest fan.
I am not so sure that Cynthia wrote this book, it has her name on the cover but it just does not sound like her voice.
I had a very hard time getting into the book and the writing was sluggish to say the least, I stuck with it and read the whole book I just has to know where Greg was and why he had left his wife Libby. But it did get better towards the end.
If you to are a fan of Cynthia's and have not read this book please get a copy read it stick with it until you get to the end, then let me know what you think of it.
I gave this book 3.5 stars but I'm glad I read it all.

Casey "C.S." Fritz grew up on a farm in Oregon, where he milked cows and had a pet pig. To escape the endless chores of milking cows and watering tomatoes...Casey would draw.

As a young child, Casey's family moved to Arizona. It was there beneath the fiery gaze of the Southwestern sun, that he spent most of his life. Graduating school, marrying the love of his life and having two wild kids. It was also there that C.S. Fritz's work began to take traction with local galleries and art publications.

In 2011 the Fritz family went west to the great city of Los Angeles. It is here that Casey operates as one of the lead pastors at Collective Church, while drawing monsters in his spare time.

I have really enjoyed this series. The illustrations are outstanding and the author really used his talents with the light and dark in the book it starts out black pages with white writing then as the story goes on the pages become white with black writing, ingenuous if you ask me.
This is a great children's series , don't miss this last one it can be a stand alone.
I gave this book 5 stars. I recommend this book.

But will her dreams of happily-ever-after be turned upside down when she discovers who he really is?

With both parents avid readers, it's no surprise that Amanda Cabot learned to read at an early age. From there it was only a small step to deciding to become a writer. Of course, deciding and becoming are two different things, as she soon discovered. Fortunately for the world, her first attempts at fiction, which included a play for her fifth grade class entitled "All About Thermometers," were not published, but she did meet her goal of selling a novel by her thirtieth birthday. Since then she's sold more than thirty novels under a variety of pseudonyms. When she's not writing, Amanda enjoys sewing, cooking and - of course - reading.

Book two in the Texas Crossroads series was just as good as book one. A super light fun read.
Blake and Marisa are loveable and real characters and you will not soon forget them.
I was so happy to return to Rainbow's End, I can't wait to see what Cabot has in store for us next.
I love the whole aspect of second chances. This was a super fun summer read.
I gave this book 5 stars. I recommend this summer read.

This is a fantastic start to a series. I love the whole story of Englishers and Amish being neighbors and all the struggles they have to endure.
Gould has stepped outside the box on this one, it is not your everyday Amish fiction, you are sure to find this series a fresh voice in the Amish genre.
I did not like the character Tim but I really enjoyed Eve and Charlie's story, they were so easy to connect with. I learned to love Tim towards the end.
I enjoyed the kids in the story, about how they took up with each other so much.
I gave this book 5 stars two times. I highly recommend it. This is a book Binge book, you can not put it down.
