Kelly Long is the author of the Patch of Heaven series and the historical Amish Arms of Love. She was born and raised in the mountains of Northern Pennsylvania. She’s been married for twenty-six years and enjoys life with her husband, children, and Bichon.

Are you ready to read about a portrait of Grace?
This book is threads of Grace that bind us all together,
I have to say that Sarah's Garden was my favorite book by Kelly. A Patch of Heaven series was good but I really like the first one a lot. Until I read Threads of Grace it is my new favorite.
Kelly pulled me in and I could not put the book down until I finished it.
Kelly has a way of placing the reader right there in the middle of the story.
The characters are so real to you, as you are reading the story.
I loved Abel, so much and I just wanted to hug him. I really think this will be your favorite book by Kelly after you start reading it.
I highly recommend this book!
I give this book 5 stars. You do not want to pass this book up.

MORE ABOUT ANNA...
In addition she was named a Rising Star finalist and award winner in 2000, and in 2005 she tried her hand at screenwriting. That first screenplay made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the coveted Don & Gee Nicholl Screenwriting Competition sponsored by the Academy of Arts and Sciences. (Yep, those are the folks who hand out those little gold statues called Oscar every year!) "My father ran a movie theater when I was growing up and my masters degree is in theater arts. When I write, I do tend to think in terms of my characters being 'onstage' - for me it's as much a visual process as a cerebral one."

Critics have called Anna 'a natural writer, spinning tales reminiscent of old favorites like Miracle on 34th Street.' Her characters have been called 'realistic' and 'endearing' and one reviewer raved, "I love Anna Schmidt's style of writing!"

Having survived her own battle with uterine cancer and discovered wellsprings of compassion and caring she never knew she possessed when family members and friends faced their own health challenges, Anna often draws on the questions she has faced in her own life in creating her characters. Readers regularly write to Anna to let her know that a character's story touched them on such a personal level that it was as if Anna understood what they were going through in their own lives.

"But you can't come up with believable stories if you have no life beyond writing," Anna admits. She likes to dabble in crafts - weaving, creating handmade books and notecards, and a little knitting. "We are talking straight knitting - row after row of beautiful yarn is very very soothing for me!" The rows of straight therapeutic knitting do eventually have a purpose -- Anna makes them into prayer shawls for hospice patients.

In addition she loves gardening and she's hauled enough seashells home from the Florida beaches that somewhere in the future, archeologists may believe there must have once been an ocean in Wisconsin! (Click here to learn how you can receive one of Anna's handmade bookmarks.)

One of Anna's favorite pastimes is the chance to hear from and stay in touch with her readers.

I have to say I LOVED this book. Anna is one of the top authors that writes about the Mennonites. She really writes with truth and heart. She makes the plain people part of your life.
I can tell you when open up this book you will not be able to put it down!
I loved all three of the Women of Pinecraft series books. I can not wait to read Anna's next book.
I Highly recommend this book. I give this book 4 stars.

I was given this book as a gift.

Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To By Anthony Destefano

There have been thousands of books written about prayer and millions of sermons preached about it, yet people continue to wonder: Why doesn’t God answer me when I cry out to him? In light of all the problems we face in life, we want to know why God is often so “silent” when we pray to him. Anthony DeStefano, author of the bestselling A Travel Guide to Heaven, knew there had to be an answer to this mystery, so he set out on a quest to find prayers that God says yes to all the time. The result is an extraordinary new book that has the ability to dramatically change the lives of readers of all faiths.
Each short, powerful prayer in Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To addresses a particular problem people commonly face in life—from accepting the existence of God to trying to make ends meet; from getting through terrible suffering to coping with everyday stress; from overcoming fear to finding your God-given destiny. Presented with a certainty and vigor that are sure to pique the interest of even those who are not spiritually inclined, these prayers will help readers find solutions to life’s most difficult situations and provide meaningful and inspiring answers to the vexing questions we have about the purpose of our time on earth.
In a world awash with superficial self-help books and deceptive gimmicks, Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To is the real thing. Using hundreds of scriptural references to support his claims, DeStefano writes in a simple, straightforward, and uplifting manner that makes the most profound theological matters understandable to all. In the words of the author, “This is a spiritual treasure chest that is available to everyone….This book is about prayers that work—really, truly work.”

Watch for my new book, Golden Dreams coming Soon.

I found this book to have good characters. This author has an imagination and that sure does help with the story overall.
I did have some trouble with reading this book because it was not edited and I had to push my way through it.
With that being said I think that the next book will be good with some editing and a little bit of polishing.

With the livelihood of the miners and their families depending on his project, Royce refuses to stop building, no matter how good the reason or how lovely the masked saboteur turns out to be. Unholy Hunger By Heather James Giveaway!

Evelyn Barrett wants to die. As long as her daughter's murderer dies with her, she is ready to go. Why did this man--this stranger--destroy her family? Why has he not been brought to justice? Why is she forced to live a life of anger and grief? Amid a million questions she cannot answer, Evelyn knows one thing for sure: this murderer must be punished for his crime. Perhaps the harder lesson is this: the ultimate truth--of crime and verdict, of life and death--cannot be swayed by a mother's revenge. In this first book of a new, page-turning series, a woman will be brought to her limits before she finally recognizes and reconnects with the source of true peace.

Heather James is an author, attorney, and columnist. Unholy Hunger is the first novel in her Lure of the Serpent Series.

This was the first book I read by Heather. I wanted to read and review it based on the cover alone.
I had a very hard time with some of the themes in this book, child abuse, abduction, molestation, murder, but let me tell you one thing it is a can't put down book. Heather writes with such raw emotion.
The fact that there is bad stuff going on, you still hear a story of forgiveness in this must read.
I recommend this book and I can not wait for book number two in this series.

Life is a Balance By Philip Nork GIVEAWAY!

The journey of self-discovery is a lifetime trip; and just like the fingerprints you possess, yours will be uniquely different than anyone else’s. There are things that are common in each—such as good and bad times, emotional highs and lows, and choices that will need to be made. These choices that are presented to you can greatly define how you live your life. They may be influenced by the people you meet, symbols that are strategically placed along your journey, and especially by however you choose to worship your idea of God. Being that no choice ever comes without consequence, there really is no right or wrong answer; either road taken will eventually get you to where you’re supposed to be. Although some roads take longer than others in order to reach your final destination.

Philip Nork was born in Chicago, Illinois and is the oldest of three children. His early years were devastating as he endured the divorce of his parents, the death of his beloved great-grandmother, and the resulting feelings of isolation and loneliness. While these events took their toll, they also shaped the man he grew up to be. Phil had a different perspective than his friends and his experiences were totally unique. As his young male friends were busy playing baseball, defending their turf, and hitting on girls, his time was spent reading, listening to music, writing his feelings down in his journal and trying to understand the differences in people and to figure out how “we can all get along.” After graduating early from high school, he entered the work force as a way to help support his mother and his siblings. To get away from the reality of his life, Phil spent much of his off time with his friend Joyce, a lesbian. She was able to help him experience women at his own pace and taught him many of the lessons he was to put in place. As more and more straight ladies entered his life, these experiences allowed him to learn more about human nature and he was able to turn these special times into the stories in his book. Phil lives in Nevada with his wife and their son. He mixes work with his love of writing. He spent the first 25 years of his working life in the restaurant industry. He took all the knowledge from his early days at McDonalds and parlayed that into a successful stint with Panera Bread. He rose from the day to day operations of a general manager to become an Area Manager and then a Training Manager for that organization. Teaching and speaking in front of hundreds of trainees day in and day out helped him perfect his easy going style. He is now an Area Manager for CDS, a marketing and sales firm which specializes in working with the vendors of Costco Wholesale Warehouses. In addition to writing, Phil is a baseball card collector, an avid reader, and enjoys listening to the music of his youth, especially Rod Stewart and Air Supply.

Here is another book by Phil and it was just as good as the first one. If you have not read one of Philip's books this would be one to start with. I am sure that you will enjoy this one.
Thanks to Phil for sharing his books with us.

Saving Gideon By Amy Lillard

Gideon Fisher wants one thing out of life -- to be left alone. This is not the Amish way, but he’s devastated after the death of his wife and son to the point of losing his faith. He buys a farm on the outskirts of the district and pulls away from his community. But when a freak spring snowstorm brings a beautiful Englisher to his farm, what choice does Gideon have but to let her in?

Dallas socialite Avery Ann Hamilton is intrigued by the Amish farmer who pulls her out of the snow and into his austere lifestyle. Poor little rich girl, Avery has just gone through (yet another) bad breakup. Every man she meets only wants her for her father’s money. All she has ever wanted is to be loved for herself. Avery soon discovers the Oklahoma Amish country is the perfect place to hide out and heal her broken heart.

But she finds a peace in those back roads that she’s never felt before. Now her life has purpose and meaning as she connects with God and those around her. And there’s something more as she begins to care for this man who needs both love and forgiveness.

Gideon never wanted to live again much less fall in love, but Avery finds her way into his heart, showing him the beauty of life and God’s greatness. Yet as the feelings between Avery and Gideon grow, can they overcome their dissimilar lifestyles, or will their sheer differences pull them apart?

I'm a wife, mother, and bona fide Southern belle. Published author, expert corn bread maker, and Squirrel Princess.
I live in Tulsa, though I was born in Mississippi. I moved to the Sooner State when I was seventeen and met my soul mate and best friend not long after. I've retained a little of my Mississippi accent though most people think I'm from Texas. (?) Rob and I have been married for over twenty years and have a son-a mom proclaimed prodigy, of course!

I love homemade tacos, shoes, and romance novels-not necessarily in that order. I'm a big fan of country music, a staunch proponent of saving the Oxford comma, and I'm shamefully obsessed with all things Harry Potter.

I believe that God is love. I guess that's why I adore romances.

I have always been intrigued with the Amish culture, their gentle ways and slower-paced lifestyle. (And I love, love, love the fact that they stay married for their lifetime.) But until recently I never thought to blend this interest with my penchant for romance. Okay, okay, I'm a bit old-fashioned and even enjoy the gender roles that are present in this culture. I love to cook and take care of my family. Yes, that's me June Cleaver with a laptop.

I dislike people trying to convince me to read the Twlight series (I'll get to it or I won't, either way I'm good with it), gratuitous violence, and strawberry ice cream. (I know I'm alone on this last one, and again, I'm good with it.)

Favorite movies-(besides HP) French Kiss, Maid of Honor, A Lot Like Love, Just Married, and Sweet Home Alabama. Oh, and Miss Congeniality, Sabrina (both versions) and a 1940′s movie called Dear Ruth. If you haven't seen it, you should! A-dorable. Anything with Doris Day and most all of Marilyn's and Audrey's.

This was such a different Amish story line then most of the Amish books that I read. It was fantastic, I hung on every word of this book. I feel in love with Annie and Gideon and I pulled from them all the way to the end of the story.
I can not wait to see what author Amy has in store for me in book two of A Clover Ridge novel.
She is an Amish author for all the Amish book reading fans to watch out for.
I read this book straight though, I could not put it down.
I give this book 5 stars  twice over. I was GREAT!

Misguided Sensitivity By Philip Nork Giveaway

The journey we are on is a difficult one, even more so for those from a broken family. Follow one boy as he searches for the two desires we all have in common: to be accepted by others, and to be truly happy. Life continues through the good and the bad, and each and every person you meet along the way leaves pieces behind, like a jigsaw puzzle, for you to piece together as you grow and learn. And as you put those pieces together, you hopefully become a better person for it. We are indeed all connected, and everything you do really does matter and will always affect someone else in one way or another.

As his young male friends were busy playing baseball, defending their turf, and hitting on girls, his time was spent reading, listening to music, writing his feelings down in his journal and trying to understand the differences in people and to figure out how “we can all get along.” Philip Nork resides in Henderson, Nevada with his family, where he mixes writing with life. Katie has lived through tragedy and heartache. But with the angel Elias by her side, the best years of her life are just ahead.
A Heaven on Earth Novel, #3
When Katie Bender’s fiancé died in a tragic accident, so did her hope of finding love. Though heartbroken, Katie is also practical. In the years since the accident she has discovered her gift for teaching. But when a tornado destroys her small Amish settlement, including the schoolhouse, Katie doesn’t know how she will provide for herself.
Seth Stutzman arrived in Hope Falls days before the storm. And when he helps usher Katie and the children to safety, sparks fly. But Seth is only in town to help his brother, Amos, get back on his feet following the death of his wife. He can’t afford to have feelings for Katie.
Rebuilding the community is a huge task, and soon, Katie and Seth are working side by side. As they privately wrestle with their feelings for each other, another silent—and ultimate—battle for their hearts rages unseen.
Sworn to protect what God has ordained, the mighty angel Elias appears to them as a mysterious visitor. And with his guidance, Katie and Seth find the courage to take the first small steps toward the life, and love, they were destined for.

Ruth Reid is a full-time pharmacist who lives in Florida with her husband and three children. When attending Ferris State University School of Pharmacy in Big Rapids, Michigan, she lived on the outskirts of an Amish community and had several occasions to visit the Amish farms. Her interest grew into love as she saw the beauty in living a simple life.

Oh My what can I say about this book that will even come close to letting you know that I LOVED it. I highly recommend this book.
Ruth has wrote a book about an angel that walks here on earth and if ever we needed a book with this positive story line it is now.
I would give anything to see my angel that is by my side everyday.
I fell in love with Elias the angel, and I could not wait to turn the page to see what was going to happen next.
Katie and Seth were the best, I loved them both. This was the best Amish book I have read in a very long time. I loved the whole series. This was a fantastic finish to a wonderful series.
I am telling all of you Amish fans out there this is a MUST READ.  A 5 star book for sure!
