Chosen By Michelle McClain-Walters

MANY ARE CALLED, BUT YOU ARE CHOSEN.

This book will equip you with prophetic insight and divine strategies that will jump-start you on the path toward destiny.
There is a distinction between the called and the chosen, the many and the few. Who are these people? How did they get exclusive access to the favor of God? They are confident and prosperous, generous and joyful. They live in the realm of miracles and the supernatural, as if the very breath of God is on every decision they make in life. One season after the next they are catapulted to new levels in life. All they do is win and trample over challenges, disappointments, and attacks from the enemy, while others still remain at the starting line, awaiting breakthrough.
In her book Michelle McClain-Walters shows readers just what this distinction is and how they can live in the fullness of their identity as God’s chosen ones. Built on the words of Christ in John 15:16—“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you”—and Matthew 22:14—“Many are called but few are chosen”—Chosen is a revelation of the spiritual force behind the life of the next-level believer.
Choose now and declare, “I am chosen!” and watch as the mysteries of heaven are opened to you.

Michelle McClain-Walters has traveled to more than fifty nations and has conducted schools of the prophet that have activated thousands in the art of hearing the voice of God. She is the author of The Prophetic Advantage and four books in the Women of Influence series. For many years she served as director of prayer ministry on the staff of Crusaders Church under the leadership of Apostle John Eckhardt. She was also one of the house prophets and apostolic team leaders at Crusaders Church. She and her husband, Floyd Walters Jr., currently reside in Orlando, Florida.

My Thoughts...

I have read other books by Walters and They are always very anointing and on point with what the Bible says.
Chosen was no different, it is not a book to be read in one sitting it's a book to read slowly and taken in small amounts there is so much to chew on.
I am rereading it again.
This is a 4 star study not to be missed. Ask your small group about reading it together.

Fire Storm By Nancy Mehl

When FBI profiler Kaely Quinn's mother is diagnosed with cancer, Kaely takes time off work to go to Dark Water, Nebraska, to help her brother care for their mother. Upon her arrival, she learns of a series of fires in the small town, attributed by the fire chief to misuse of space heaters in the frigid winter. But Kaely is skeptical, and a search for a pattern in the locations of the fires bolsters her suspicions.

After yet another blaze devastates a local family, Kaely is certain a serial arsonist is on the loose. Calling upon her partner from St. Louis, Noah Hunter, and her brother's firefighter neighbor who backs Kaely's suspicions, Kaely and her team begin an investigation that swiftly leads them down a twisted path. When the truth is finally revealed, Kaely finds herself confronting a madman who is determined his last heinous act will be her death.

All of Nancy's novels have an added touch - something for your spirit as well as your soul. "I welcome the opportunity to share my faith through my writing," Nancy says. "It's a part of me and of everything I think or do. God is number one in my life. I wouldn't be writing at all if I didn't believe that this is what He's called me to do. I hope everyone who reads my books will walk away with the most important message I can give them: God is good, and He loves you more than you can imagine. He has a good plan especially for your life, and there is nothing you can't overcome with His help."

You can find out more about Nancy by visiting her Web site at: www.nancymehl.com. She also is active on the Suspense Sisters: www.suspensesisters.blogspot.com and on FaceBook!

My Thoughts...
I was ready for book two in the Kaely Quinn Profiler series.
You can read it as a stand alone but I think reading the series is always best.
Are you ready to be on this twisted path? Mehl is at her best with this romantic suspense.
I gave this book 4 stars and I recommend it.

The Cold Way Home By Julia Keller

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Julia Keller welcomes readers back to West Virginia, where her lyrical and moving stories of the people of her native state have unfolded since A Killing in the Hills, the acclaimed first novel in the series.
Deep in the woods just outside Acker's Gap, West Virginia, rises a ragged chunk of what was once a high stone wall. This is all that remains of Wellwood, a psychiatric hospital for the poor that burned to the ground decades ago. And it is here that Bell Elkins – prosecutor turned private investigator – makes a grim discovery while searching for a missing teenager: A dead body, marred by a ghastly wound that can only mean murder.
To solve the mystery of what happened in these woods where she played as a child, Bell and her partners – former sheriff Nick Fogelsong and former deputy Jake Oakes – must confront the tangled history of Wellwood and its dark legacy, while each grapples with a private torment. Based on a true chapter in the troubled history of early treatment for psychiatric illness, The Cold Way Home is a story of death and life, of despair and hope, of crime and – sometimes, but not always – punishment.

Julia Keller, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and former cultural critic at the Chicago Tribune, is the author of many books for adults and young readers, including A Killing in the Hills, the first book in the Bell Elkins series and winner of the Barry Award for Best First Novel (2013); Back Home; and The Dark Intercept. Keller has a Ph.D. in English literature from Ohio State and was awarded Harvard University’s Nieman Fellowship. She was born in West Virginia and lives in Ohio.

My Thoughts...
My first book by Keller. It is part of a series I am told but it reads as a stand alone. Not for the fact that it takes place in West Virginia or that the author is from Ohio. This book took me on a ride and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to get my hands on more of her books.
4 stars and I recommend it.

My Thoughts...

If this is Petrova's debut novel I can't wait to see what she writes next. Fantastic plot, great characters you will not soon forget. I loved how this book sucked me in from the very first chapter.
I am not going to give anything away but you will not see the end coming.
4 stars and I recommend this debut book.

My thoughts...

I was ready for book three in this series, but let me tell you it can be read as a stand alone. But do your self a favor and read all three. If you are like me you don't read many Love inspired books that much it is great to get all three of these and read them. It's like a great novel you can't put down. So in my opinion you will love all three books and reading them one right after another will be like reading a full length book.
I gave this book 4 stars and recommend it.

Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. She is the author of almost 90 books with more than 10 million copies sold. Many of her books have landed on the top bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, Publisher's Weekly, CBA, ECPA, and CBD. Wanda is considered one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre, and her work has been covered by national publications, including Time Magazine and USA Today.

Wanda's fascination with the Amish culture developed when she met her husband, Richard, who grew up in a Mennonite church, and whose family has a Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Meeting her new Mennonite sister-in-laws caused Wanda to yearn for the simpler life. In their travels, she and her husband have become close friends with many Amish people across America. Wanda's desire to explore their culture increased when she discovered that her great-great grandparents were part of the Anabaptist faith.

All of Wanda's novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Many of her books are well-read and trusted by the Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.

Wanda's primary attraction to the Amish is their desire to live a devout Christian life that strives to honor God, work hard, and maintain close family ties. Whenever she visits her Amish friends, Wanda finds herself drawn to their peaceful lifestyle, sincerity, and close family ties, which is in stark contrast to the chaos and busyness that plagues so many modern "Englishers." Time and time again, Wanda loses her heart in the Amish life, and she hopes her readers will, too. For more information, visit: www.WandaBrunstetter.com

My Thoughts...
Do you have a prayer jar or some where that you write down your prayers?
Okay let me start by saying some of you are going to be really sad. This is the last book in The Prayer Jars series and If I do say so myself it was the best book in the whole series. I hated to see this series come to an end.
You are going to really gleam a lot of this book.
It is by far one of Wanda's best books.
I gave it 4 stars and recommend it to all Amish fiction fans.

Blessed Broken Given By Glenn Packiam

An invitation to find beauty and meaning in the ordinary and imperfect aspects of your life; not as a call to settle for less, but rather as a way to mysteriously participate in God's power and purpose.

Glenn Packiam wants to empower readers to find great joy, purpose, and passion in their daily living. While bread may be one of the most common items on our dinner tables, Jesus chose to take it at the Last Supper and invest deep, wonderful, and transcendent meaning in it. Like the bread that was blessed, broken, and given; readers will see how God uses ordinary experiences to cultivate their mission and their brokenness to bring healing to the world. The ordinary is not the enemy; it is the means by which God accomplishes the miraculous. Through clear biblical teaching and practical steps, Packiam leads the reader into a more purposeful, directed, hopeful future.

Queen For A Day By Maxine Rosaler

Mimi Slavitt’s three-year-old son is autistic, but if we told her, she wouldn’t listen, because she doesn’t want to know―until at last his behavior becomes so strange that even she can’t ignore it. Mimi inhabits a world nearly as isolating as her son’s―one that she shares with mothers like her, chosen against their will for lives of sacrifice and martyrdom. Searching for miracles, fighting heartless bureaucracies while arranging every minute of every day for children who can never be left alone, they exist in a state of perpetual crisis, normal life always just out of reach. In chapters told from Mimi’s point of view and theirs, we meet these mothers, each a complex character totally unsuitable for sainthood and dreaming of the day she can just she walk away. Taking its title from the 1950s reality show that made suffering housewives compete against each other for deluxe refrigerators and life-saving operations, Queen for a Day portrays a group of imperfect women under enormous pressure. Rosaler tells their story in ironic, precise and vivid prose, with dark humor and insight born of first-hand experience.

Maxine Rosaler's fiction and nonfiction have been published in The Southern Review, Glimmer Train, Witness, Fifth Wednesday, Green Mountains Review, The Baltimore Review and other literary magazines. She is the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship for Fiction. Stories of hers have been cited in editions of Best American Short Stories and Best American Essays. She lives in New York City with her husband, Phillip Margulies.

My Thoughts...

This was such an empowering read. Moms have a hard life but to have a child who is autistic makes if harder to make it day to day.
I personally would be honored to have an autistic baby. But I was so inspired by these moms stories.
I hope that whether you have an autistic child or not that you will grab a copy of this book and take a look into other mothers lives.
I gave this book 4 stars. I recommend this read.

Molly By Colin Butcher

Molly: The True Story of the Amazing Dog Who Rescues Cats tells the heartwarming story of the man-and-dog team behind the United Kingdom Pet Detective Agency―how Colin, in need of a new lease on life, rescues Molly the dog, and how Molly in turn rescues many more beloved lost pets.
As a veteran of the Royal Navy and longtime police officer, Colin Butcher was no stranger to dangerous situations. But a career in uniform can wear anyone down, so, in 2003, Colin left the force to start his own private detective agency, specializing in helping reunite people with their missing pets. And yet, despite his hundreds of successes, there were still heartbreaking cases where Colin couldn’t find the missing on his own. He knew he needed a partner.
When Colin first met Molly, his friends doubted that she would be up for the job. Where Colin was battle-tested, Molly was young and inexperienced. She was willful, wayward, and stubborn. But Colin could tell that Molly was unusually charismatic and intelligent. He decided to take a risk and bring on Molly for training.
Yes, Molly is no ordinary deputy, but a black Cocker Spaniel, and this is no ordinary detective agency. Trained by the top canine behavioral experts at Medical Detection Dogs, Molly can find missing cats―who are uniquely skilled at eluding humans―by detecting a unique scent signature, and she has been wildly successful.
The work is not always easy. Molly has faced hardships ranging from a near-fatal snakebite to the challenge of winning over Colin’s girlfriend, Sarah. But through it all, Colin and Molly share an enduring love and affection. More than a working relationship, Molly is part of the family. Together, they are the Sherlock and Watson of missing pets.

Colin Butcher is the Company Director and Chief Investigator of the UKPD. Previously a Detective Inspector in Surrey Police, and a veteran of the Royal Navy, Colin was awarded a prestigious Chief Constables Commendation for his contributions to the advancement of the Criminal Investigation Department. He has been recovering stolen and missing pets for over twenty years and has a wealth of experience in the investigation of pet crime. His first successful assignment was back in 1994 when, serving as a Detective Sergeant with Surrey Police, he recovered two German Shepherd puppies stolen from a breeder’s kennels. Molly: The True Story of the Amazing Dog Who Rescues Cats is his first book.

My Thoughts...

I am a sucker for true stories. I am really a sucker for a sweet dog, being a dog lover myself. And I am a sucker for a dog saving other animals.
This book has all of that.
I can't wait for you all to meet Molly. This black cocker spaniel is like no other. You are going to be amazed at Molly and her talents.
So if like me you are a sucker for true stories and dogs you are going to want to get your copy of Molly  and start reading her story right away,
I gave this book 4 stars. I recommend it.

Things you Save in a Fire By Katherine Center

From the New York Times bestselling author of How to Walk Away comes a stunning new novel about courage, hope, and learning to love against all odds.
Cassie Hanwell was born for emergencies. As one of the only female firefighters in her Texas firehouse, she's seen her fair share of them, and she's a total pro at other people's tragedies. But when her estranged and ailing mother asks her to give up her whole life and move to Boston, Cassie suddenly has an emergency of her own.
The tough, old-school Boston firehouse is as different from Cassie's old job as it could possibly be. Hazing, a lack of funding, and poor facilities mean that the firemen aren't exactly thrilled to have a "lady" on the crew―even one as competent and smart as Cassie. Except for the infatuation-inspiring rookie, who doesn't seem to mind having Cassie around. But she can't think about that. Because love is girly, and it’s not her thing. And don’t forget the advice her old captain gave her: Never date firefighters. Cassie can feel her resolve slipping...and it means risking it all―the only job she’s ever loved, and the hero she’s worked like hell to become.
Katherine Center's Things You Save in a Fire is a heartfelt and healing tour-de-force about the strength of vulnerability, the nourishing magic of forgiveness, and the life-changing power of defining courage, at last, for yourself.

Katherine has been compared to both Nora Ephron and Jane Austen, and the Dallas Morning News calls her stories, “satisfying in the most soul-nourishing way.” Katherine recently gave a TEDx talk on how stories teach us empathy, and her work has appeared in USA Today, InStyle, Redbook, People, Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, Real Simple, Southern Living, and InTouch, among others. Katherine lives in her hometown of Houston, Texas, with her fun husband, two sweet kids, and fluffy-but-fierce dog.

My Thoughts...
What would you save in a fire? What is the best revenge? How do you forgive the unforgiveable? You must read this book to find out the answer to these questions. My first book by Center but NOT my last I plan to go tomorrow and buy How to Walk Away. Suck you in from the first chapter and never let you go until the very last page. I loved this book!
