Approaching Storm By Adam Bolander Giveaway!

1.What is the most important thing that you hope readers take away from you book Approaching storms?
There are several things that I hope people take away from Approaching Storm.  That it is in God that happiness is found, and that evil results from discontent.  That God is with you, no matter what circumstances you are in.  That true love is worth fighting and dying for, even if you only feel it for a short time.  That squirrels are without a doubt the coolest animals God has ever created.  But since you’re only looking for the MOST important thing, I’m going to have to go with how all evil, no matter how great and powerful, will always be defeated by the light.

2. What is your favorite Bible verse?
My favorite Bible verse changes constantly, usually pertaining to what type of story I am writing.  But there is one that has always managed to keep me in line with my stories, and that is Philippians 2:3.  “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”  This verse always reminds me that it is God putting these stories in my head, and that I should never allow myself to feel overly proud.  I must always give God the glory for my writing.  Praise and recognition are great, but God’s glory comes first.

3.How does faith play into your writing?
I always try to incorporate faith in God as a central point in my stories.  Those who don’t believe in God, or believe He will not help them fail, but those that place their faith in the Lord will usually succeed.  But at the same time I try not to make God look like Santa Claus.  Just because you ask Him for something doesn’t mean you’re going to get it, but even if things work out differently than you expected, everything is still holding true to God’s plan.

4.What is your favorite book by another author?
I actually have two that I’m unable to decide between.  In regards to which book inspired “Legends of the Saloli” the most, I’d have to go with “Fire Bringer” by David Clement-Davies.  When it comes to the book that inspired my relationship with God to grow the most, I’d have to go with “Showdown” by Ted Dekker.  Both are excellent books, and I encourage everyone to check them out.

5.What movie has inspired you the most?
That’s a tough one.  When I think about it, I believe that the first two “Lion King” movies played a huge role in “Legend of the Saloli’s” development.  I didn’t have a whole lot of movies to choose from that were similar to my story, but “The Lion King” and “The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride” were both very much like what I hoped “Legends of the Saloli” would turn out like, and were very good sources of inspiration.

6.What are you writing now? Can you tell us a little bit about it...
Currently, I am writing trilogy called “The Slayer and the Sphinx.”  The first book is already out, and I am about to begin work on the sequel.  I have begun a third “Legends of the Saloli” book, but I’m not sure when that will be finished.  I am also developing a new story called “High School Hero”, about which I am not ready to give out any details yet, suffice to say that it is different from anything else I have ever written before.

7.Where can readers find you , do you have a website or a blog?
I have a blog where I write reviews for books, movies, and video games.  You can check it out at http://forceoffiction.blogspot.com/.
