GIVEAWAY! An extra copy fell off the truck of An Overdue Match by Sarah Monzon

If the covers of every romance book ever published didn't convince librarian Evangeline Kelly that she isn't heroine material, her fiancé calling off their wedding when she lost her hair to alopecia did. But what's a girl head over heels for love to do when her feelings are unrequited? Matchmake, that's what. Armed with library patrons' check-out histories, she's determined to make at least one love connection--even if it's not her own.

Tattoo artist Tai Davis is used to people judging him with a single glance, so it doesn't surprise him when the town's quirky new librarian believes his bad-boy reputation without giving him a chance. He can't help being intrigued by her, though, so when he discovers Evangeline's secret matchmaking scheme, he's not above striking a bargain with her. She just has to agree to one date with him for every time she uses his hometown knowledge to set up library patrons on a romantic rendezvous. The deal is made, but in the process, they both might learn you can't judge a book--or each other--by the cover.

Once a Castle by Sarah Arthur

A few years after Eva Joyce and Frankie Addison discovered the existence of portals to other worlds, Frankie’s younger siblings, together with some new friends, make discoveries that will change their lives, and at least two worlds, forever.

Jack, Tilly, and Elspeth Addison just want to stay out of trouble (well, mostly, at least), but trouble keeps finding them.

Meanwhile, Arash, a newcomer to the Addisons’ English village, tries to discover the secret his grandfather is hiding while keeping his own secrets from everyone. And Zahra, a Ternivali teenager, faces a crisis in her world, but before she can put things right, she’s rudely catapulted into the weirdest place she’s ever seen—where everyone seems to think
she’s the weird one.

Soon their stories get tangled together, and the teens must discover if they can bridge their differences and find, in themselves and one another, what it takes to put things right. Because it’s not only their lives at stake but also the fate of their home—and of more than one kingdom.

With All Her Heart by Kelly Irvin

Bonnie is successful in her crafts shop but fears no man will see past her disability to her strong and loving heart. Elijah dreams of leaving the family business to focus on his carvings. Can they find a new path together?

Elijah Miller is a quiet and painfully shy man with a talent for carving the handmade toys and furniture that tourists in the Amish shops love. The large, boisterous Miller family is anything but shy. With a thriving auction business, they want him to do what he hates most: taking the stage and calling the auctions. He loves his family and wants to support them, but will they allow room for Elijah to follow his own dream?

Bonnie Yoder began the Homespun Handicrafts with her friends, Sophia and Carol. Each has a physical disability to overcome but together they prove that wheelchairs and rollators will not stop them from building a business and a craft community. Bonnie, with her chestnut curls and pretty face, yearns for a husband and family of her own but fears her spinal condition will keep any Amish man from choosing a life with her. Can a man like Elijah see past her walker to the woman behind it?

With the support of his beloved dog, Slowpoke, Elijah finds the courage to bring in samples of his handcrafted toys for Bonnie to consider for display in the shop. Through her advice, Elijah begins to see a possible new life doing what he loves best. Bonnie, in reconnecting with this old school friend, fears that the hope for a relationship that she feels may be another disappointment.

Can Elijah and Bonnie help each other find the lives they want and the love they desire?

Best-selling novelist Kelly Irvin's latest Amish romance, Every Good Gift, debuted in February 2023. The third novel in the Amish Blessings series takes place in Yoder and Haven, Kansas. The series takes a look at adoption in Amish communities. The first book, Love's Dwelling, won second place in the Selah Awards contest in the long contemporary romance category. The series follows the Amish of Sky Country series, which featured Amish communities in Northwest Montana affected by wildfires that destroyed thousands of acres in the state in recent years. The first book, Mountains of Grace, debuted in August 2019, and delves into the impact on not only an Amish man and woman, but also a smoke jumper, a sheriff's deputy, and a young English woman forced to confront her past because of the fires.

Kelly also writes romantic suspense novels. Her most recent forays into this genre include Trust Me, Her Every Move and Closer Than She Knows, all set in San Antonio and South Texas. Publishers Weekly says of Closer Than She Knows, "this brisk, smoothly written thriller from Irvin pits court reporter Teagan O’Rourke, a murder mystery lover, against a cunning and vicious serial killer. Fans of serial killer fiction with a Christian slant will be satisfied."

Of Tell Her No Lies, The Library Journal says, "Irvin creates a complex web with enough twists and turns to keep even the most savvy romantic suspense readers guessing until the end. Known for her Amish novels, this two-time Carol Award finalist shows that her talents span subgenres from tranquil Amish stories to rapidly paced breathless suspense.”

Kelly is also the author of the Every Amish Season series, which included four books that chronicle the lives of Amish widows who are in different seasons in their lives. These women are linked by life altering experiences that bring them together as wives, mothers, and grandmothers in the small town of Jamesport, Mo. The first book, Upon a Spring Breeze, received critical acclaim from the Library Journal: "A moving and compelling tale about the power of grace and forgiveness that reminds us how we become strongest in our most broken moments."

Kelly Irvin is also the author of The Amish of Bee County series, which includes the critically acclaimed The Beekeeper's Son. Publishers Weekly called the first book in the series a beautifully woven masterpiece and Romantic Times Magazine called Kelly a storyteller extraordinaire. It was followed by The Bishop's Son and The Saddle Maker's Son, which is an ECPA bestseller.

A two-time ACFW Carol finalist, Kelly's novellas have been included in numerous anthologies, including An Amish Summer, The Amish Christmas Gift, An Amish Market, an Amish Christmas Love, and Amish Quilt, An Amish Reunion, An Amish Picnic, and An Amish Christmas Bakery.

She also penned the Bliss Creek Amish series and the New Hope Amish series, both published by Harvest House Publishers. Love Still Stands, the first book in the New Hope series, debuted in September 2012, and the follow-up, Love Redeemed, released March 1, 2014. The final book in the series, set in Branson, MO., was A Plain Love Song, released in July 2014.

The Bliss Creek Amish series, set in Kansas, includes To Love and to Cherish, A Heart Made New, and Love's Journey Home.

In the New Hope series, familiar characters from Bliss Creek move to Missouri to start a new district and a new life.

The Kansas native is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and the ACFW San Antonio local chapter Alamo City Christian Fiction Writers, as well as Sisters in Crime and Women's Fiction Writers Association.

A graduate of the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism, Kelly wrote nonfiction professionally for thirty years. She studied for three semesters at the University of Costa Rica, learning the Spanish language. As a journalist, she worked six years in the border towns of Laredo and El Paso, where she was exposed to culture and language that serves as fodder for her fiction writing. She has written hard news, features, entertainment pieces, restaurant critiques, editorials, and weekly columns. Writing awards include the Silver Star Award from the Texas Mental Health Association for articles pertaining to mental health and numerous awards in news, feature, and editorial writing from the Texas Press Association and Texas Press Women.

Kelly retired in 2016 from her position of 22 years as public relations manager for the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, where her duties included writing and designing an employee newsletter, writing news releases, collaborating on marketing campaigns, coordinating ribbon-cuttings and groundbreakings, coordinating press conferences, updating the web site, and acting as a media spokesperson.

Kelly has been married to photographer Tim Irvin for 35 years. They have two children and four grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes to write short stories and poetry, read books by her favorite authors, and visit the babies.

I love Irvin's books they always have something different. In With All Her Heart she has a theme of disabilities that you don't hear a lot about, and it was such a strong part of the book for me. Irvin also gave us not one but two sweet romances. I almost forgot to mention I Love this cover.
4 stars and I highly recommend this book.

Her debut novel, The Department, is a dark academic thriller about a college girl who disappears, a professor who goes looking for her, and the secrets that won't stay buried. What did I just read, that was crazy. I was into this one and enjoyed it but that ending was not the best. I was somewhat disappointed in the ending.

I love a great self-help book. And I have always enjoyed watching the Duggars grow up. Jinger has become quite the young lady, and I have read all her books and her sisters' books. This one hit home as I am a people pleaser I never say no or say what I want to say when someone asks me to do something or give something. I like the biblical advice and some of her story. I only wish she had shared a little bit more on the personal side but overall, it was worth the read and I'm glad that I read it.

Only Say Good Things by Crystal Hefner

From a former Playboy Playmate, an unflinching look at the objectification and misogyny of the Playboy mansion, a woman’s stolen young adulthood, and her journey to self-acceptance–plus a rare look inside Hugh Hefner’s final days.

Crystal Harris’ life changed forever when she was just twenty-one and attended a party at the notorious Playboy mansion. Picked out of the crowd by Hugh Hefner, Crystal Harris became one of his infamous “girlfriends,” attending glamorous Hollywood parties and traveling the world. But being Hef’s number one girlfriend came at the cost of Crystal’s identity outside her role in the Playboy universe, and she grew increasingly restless to understand who she truly was away from what she saw as Playboy’s toxic culture. Hef controlled his girlfriends with strict rules regarding everything from their hair and makeup to their curfews, forcing them to compete with one another as part of a highly hierarchal system.

Only Say Good Things provides a fascinating look behind the scenes at a powerful cultural icon and brand, and an empowering perspective on hard-won lessons about who we allow to determine our value.

A look inside and the emotional, honest, words had to be hard for Hefner to tell. I loved that she was so open.

Fat Loss Habits by Ben Carpenter

Good habits are powerful. Repeated actions bring about change one step at a time, and help us ensure that these changes become part of our lives. But when it comes to fat loss, too often the focus is on bad habits. We've all heard that snacking between meals, stress eating and mid-week takeaways won't help us lose weight— but that doesn't make it easier to stop doing these things. On top of this, we're constantly bombarded with articles and videos telling us why certain foods are bad, or toxic, or poison. This makes the search for basic nutrition advice almost impossible, and it's not surprising that so many people feel confused about what to eat.

Ben Carpenter is a fitness coach, research nerd, and trusted source of no bullshit fat loss information who has spent his entire adult life working in the fitness industry, researching the real science and studies behind fat loss, and answering questions with simplified, unbiased answers.

Ben's point is this: The best weight loss diet doesn't exist.

From keto to intermittent fasting, no diet is superior. They all work in the short term, but are rarely sustainable for the long term, nor is it a good idea to be on a weight loss diet forever. The better solution is to maintain stronger, positive motivators that make us want to stay healthy; the easiest way to do this is through simple, effective habits.

To help readers achieve true health, Ben offers a three-step plan:

  • understanding the science
  • unveiling the fat loss options available
  • choosing what habits work for you
Let's say goodbye to specific diet plans and products, and hello to implementing sustainable fat loss habits, based on our own personal preferences.

Ben Carpenter has been a personal trainer since 2006 and has worked with a diverse range of clients ranging from young athletes training to be fitness models to elderly people who are just trying their best to live a bit longer. Over time, he shifted his focus towards specialising on the most common goal that his clients strived for, losing body fat.

He realised that if he truly wanted to help as many people as possible, he needed to step away from one-to-one clients only and turn towards social media to reach a larger audience. He has been posting social media content since 2009, answering as many of your questions as possible, completely free of charge, and his videos are now seen by millions of people every single week.

His goal is simple: help you as his metaphorical client. Whether that’s navigating the minefield of misinformation that the weight loss industry is rife with – like quick fix fad diets that are being endorsed by whichever celebrity is being paid the most – or providing you with simplified summaries of the latest research papers.

He is a self-confessed ‘research nerd’. He isn’t a scientist working behind the scenes to publish research papers. He is a personal trainer that has devoted his entire adult life helping his clients and social media followers get the best results possible. It isn’t just about being up to date on the latest scientific research, but actually helping you put this information into practice.

In Everything Fat Loss, Ben is your own personal trainer. He isn’t giving you a cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all plan, he is helping you make the best decisions for your own personal circumstances. From identifying your motivation to lose body fat in the first place – and if this is even the right path for you – to the challenges you may face as an individual in your fat loss journey, to what diet might suit you best and tips to help you achieve long-term success. Ben gives you all the information you need to formulate a plan of action personalised to you.

Ben was born in the UK but now lives in California with his wife. You can find him on various social media platforms (@bdccarpenter), and at www.bdccarpenter.com.

Thoughts...
If you have good habits already this one might not be for you but if you are needing help with better habits this is your book.
Lots of good ideas and ways to make smart habit changes.

If I Go Missing by Leslie Wolfe

If you’re reading this, I’ve gone missing.

I close the binder I’ve been writing in, and walk into the living room. As I stare out of the window at your house next door, I think about all the things I stand to lose if someone comes for me. My handsome, loving husband, who has no idea what I’ve done. My family, who have supported me no matter what. This beautiful home near the ocean, where I thought I would be safe.

Everyone says that I’m paranoid, but I just think I’m prepared.
My secrets have placed me in terrible danger.

So if the worst happens, this binder contains everything you’ll need to find me, hidden in a place only you could guess. You’ve always known me best of everyone, ever since we were girls. You’ll be able to put the pieces together and uncover the truth.

Only you can find me. But you’ll need to do it fast.

Because if you don’t, all your lies will come to light too…

It kept me turning pages until the very end. I was left shaking my head.                                               Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review.
