The Grace Painter By Mark Romang Giveaway!
|
Sometimes the hardest person to forgive is the one in the mirror
reflecting back at you. Matthew London was once a highly respected hostage
negotiator for the NYPD. But then a bungled hostage scene destroyed his career.
Now all London wants is to be left alone to lick his wounds. For eight years he
has lived like a hermit in a declining plantation house, a broken man with a
secret past. Only his talent for painting Renaissance-style paintings and murals
keeps his inner demons from totally destroying him. Each day London longs for a
chance at redemption, never expecting it to ever happen. But then a young girl
from a nearby parish is kidnapped, and London steps out from the shadows.
Recruited to help find the missing girl by a down-on-her-luck FBI agent, London
quickly finds himself thrust into the starring role of a daring rescue attempt.
But before London can rescue the child from her kidnappers, he first must find a
way to forgive himself for a past misstep, a blunder that forever altered his
once promising life. But in the Atchafalaya Basin swampland, nothing is
promised. Grace cannot be earned or purchased. It can only be
given.

I was born in 1967. Avid reader, suspense novelist, faithful husband, baffled
father, factory worker, reformed head-banger, failed musician, contact sports
lover, MMA enthusiast, distressed KC sports fan, Lord of the Rings geek, workout
fiend, dog owner, nature lover, proud American, disgruntled voter, pistachio
addict, caffeine-riddled, screw-up saved by grace, sojourner. This is me in a
nutshell.
This is a different book then what I am used to reading, and I read a lot of
books.
The writing was different then what I am used to as well. It has a very
good story line but I do like books about forgiveness and grace.

Win it before you can buy it! Freefall to Fly By Rebekah Lyons
Women today are fading. In a female culture built on Photoshopped perfection and Pinterest fantasies, we’ve lost the ability to dream our own big dreams. So busy trying to do it all and have it all, we’ve missed the life we were really designed for. And we are paying the price. The rise of loneliness, depression, and anxiety among the female population in Western cultures is at an all-time high. Overall, women are two and a half times more likely to take antidepressants than men. What is it about our culture, the expectations, and our way of life that is breaking women down in unprecedented ways?
In this vulnerable memoir of transformation, Rebekah Lyons shares her journey from Atlanta, Georgia, to the heart of Manhattan, where she found herself blindsided by crippling depression and anxiety. Overwhelmed by the pressure to be domestically efficient, professionally astute, and physically attractive, Rebekah finally realized that freedom can come only by facing our greatest fears and fully surrendering to God’s call on our lives. This book is an invitation for all women to take that first step toward freedom. For it is only when we free-fall that we can truly fly.

Shadowed Soul By John Spagnoli GIVEAWAY!
|
Shadowed Soul by John M. Spagnoli is a fiction novel about bi-polar
Thomas Milton, as he struggles to rebuild his life with the aid of his blind
wife’s seeing-eye dog, Bailey. The compelling drama follows Thomas and his wife,
Beth, as they embrace and endure the birth of their firstborn through the
holiday season in New York City. Fears and anxieties that plague Thomas are
personified in the form of the Shadowed Soul a demonic specter who stalks the
protagonist’s every move. As his manic-depression escalates, his expectation for
more problems is answered in abundance. His life goes from great to bad to
worse. With the unconditional love of watchful Bailey, Thomas grapples with
seemingly insurmountable challenges as he chooses to rebuild his shattered life.
Much of the journey through manic-depression is autobiographical, with the
exception of the main character’s online pornography addiction and the demise of
certain relatives. Set in the present, Spagnoli’s intention is to depict
clinical depression in a way that provides a clear road map to leading a full
life.
