Freedom's Price By Christine Johnson
When Englishwoman Catherine Haynes loses both her parents and her home in 1856, she decides to cross the Atlantic to find her American mother's family in Louisiana. She enlists the help of Tom Worthington, a dashing Key West man who makes his living salvaging wrecked ships, but whose real goal in life is to bring to justice the man who stole his father's ship and caused his untimely death.
When Catherine finally arrives at her family's plantation, she finds it in disarray and her family absent landowners. Torn between returning to Key West with Tom or beginning the hard work of restoring the plantation, Catherine soon finds herself snared in a plot to steal her inheritance. When an incredible secret comes to light, both she and Tom will face a choice. Can they relinquish the dreams that have been holding them captive in order to step forward in faith--even if it costs them everything?

My Thoughts...
Freedom's Price is book three in the Keys of Promise Series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would read all three only because they are good reads.
The Characters are strong and well rounded. It's a light historical romance. An easy light read for a weekend read.
I gave this book 4 stars. Give it a try.
The Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Honor Redeemed By Christine Johnson
Two Men Vie for Her Affection--Survival Will Depend on Choosing the Right One
Two years ago, Prosperity Jones waved farewell to her beloved David as the army sent him to faraway Key West. Now with her parents gone, she has but one prospect for the future: make the dangerous journey from Nantucket to Key West to reunite with David and secure a happier life. Arriving penniless in the South, Prosperity is dismayed to find David married to someone else. Scrambling to survive and nursing a broken heart, she gains the friendship--and the affection--of a kind doctor. Could he be the answer to her loneliness? Or will her life be upended by circumstance yet again?
With a deft hand, Christine Johnson fills the reader's senses with the sights, sounds, and smells of Key West in this heartwarming story of honor lost, honor redeemed, and a love forged in adversity.

Of course I found this book to be one I could not put down. This is the second book I have read by Johnson and it will not be my last.
She writes just as well as most of my favorite long time authors.
The storyline and characters were not one you will soon forget. You can close your eyes and see they pages coming to life.
I loved the way I felt like I was in Key West.
Romance at its best. I gave this book 4 stars and I can't wait for Johnson next book.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

Love's Rescue By Christine Johnson GIVEAWAY!
When her mother dies, Elizabeth Benjamin heads home to Key West, determined to transform herself into the perfect Southern belle her parents always wished her to be. But nothing goes according to plan. Her crippled brother resents her, the servants do not obey her, and Rourke O'Malley, the dashing man she vowed to forget, refuses to relinquish his hold on her heart. Worst of all, it becomes painfully obvious that her father is not the upright man he appears to be.
As family secrets come to light, Elizabeth is faced with a difficult choice: to do her duty and abandon her dreams, or to leave her life of privilege behind to chase the man her father sees as little better than a pirate.
From the first emotional page, author Christine Johnson throws readers into a world of impossible choices, hidden desires, and heart-melting romance in the steamy south. Readers will cheer for Elizabeth and Rourke as they battle the odds and the elements to secure their future.

I struggled with this one for a bit. I would love the main character Elizabeth then I would dislike her, I teetered back and forth until the very end.
I would like to have gotten to know some of the characters better. There just wasn't enough details for me with some of them.
I did however like the romance and the rich history in this story.
Maybe I will get to know Elizabeth's brother Charlie in book two of the Keys of Promise series.
I gave this book 4 stars.
