WELCOME to my page! I author Amish Inspirational Fiction; My newest book, SERENITY'S SECRET, debuts October 1, 2024. THE QUILT ROOM SECRET became available February 1, 2024. I grew up near Arthur, Illinois, and became acquainted with the Plain Faith at an early age when they custom-made and installed our kitchen cabinets. On weekends, my parents and I frequented the quaint Amish town, often the setting of my stories, where we purchased our meat, cheese, and home-made baking spices. Now, decades later, I still love visiting; the town and the people yet intrigue me, and I so appreciate the talent of quilt-making almost as much as I love horse and buggy rides. Oh...and I never leave without a visit to my fav store, Stitch and Sew! But there is much more to this perplexing group than meets the eye; they are extremely disciplined, hard-working, and honest...and they don't all think alike. For these reasons, writing about them is my passion.

I was fortunate to have been raised in a loving, Christian home by two wonderful parents: a reading specialist mother who plays the piano and encouraged me to read from a very early age, and a retired Junior High Principal father who also farmed and taught me how to garden. I have a B.A. in French Education, and I'm a former school teacher who loves gardening, cooking, reading, positive thinkers, and every dog I meet. Although I'm a homebody, travel has played a large part of my life. Over three decades of working with the airline industry has landed me on five out of seven continents.
My Thoughts....
I always look forward to Bakers books, she is my favorite Amish fiction author. Her books are so unique and have so much depth. Well-rounded characters and story lines like no other. In this one you get romance at its best, Friends to lovers, mystery, and a horse named Angel.
I highly recommend this book.

The Quilt Room Secret by Lisa Jones Baker

Trini Holds Secret Dreams for Her Future

Full of faith, hope, and romance, this new series takes you into the Heart of Amish country.

As they took turns pushing each other on the swing that hung from a large tree, the mature—for a five-year-old—Jacob Lantz asked Trini Sutter to marry him. The nine-year-old thoughtfully responded that she’d consider his proposal when they were older.

Nearly two decades later, the Amish farmer returns to the beautiful countryside of Arthur, Illinois, to take the independent owner of The Quilt Room up on her promise. Quiet, handsome Jacob is truly in love with the spirited list maker, and Trini finds herself falling in love with Jacob, but the youngest of eleven has big plans of her own.

Jacob’s long-held aspirations are put to the test when he learns that Trini has been holding a secret. He prays for a turnaround of events; however, when Trini moves away from her tight-knit community, he begins to realize that his dream of them being Mr. and Mrs. most likely won't happen.

Will Trini forfeit her own well-laid plan for the man of her dreams?

Promise at Pebble Creek By Lisa Jones Baker

Amish country girl Hannah Lapp lives for adventure—the kind found in favorite novels and the stories she secretly writes. And at her family’s popular tourist store, she’s fascinated by the different Englischers she meets. Especially when Marcus Jackson comes to town. She’s sure there’s more to the ex-city boy than his quiet, helpful ways, and she’s curious to find out just what it is . . .

Marcus fled Chicago before his brothers’ life of crime ruined his future. He’s not sure exactly why God’s plan brought him to this quaint little town. Or why his growing friendship with the bubbly, inquisitive Hannah has him trusting her with his past. But when local stores are robbed and suspicion falls on Marcus, can he and Hannah come together to prove his innocence—and make their own happy-ever-after ending?

You can read these books as stand alones but why when you read them altogether you get to spend more time at pebble Creek.

Love at Pebble Creek By Lisa Jones Baker

Anna King has a talent—and a secret. Like the birth mother she never knew, Anna is gifted at sketching and longs to study and teach art one day. Unbeknownst to her beloved adoptive family, she’s even entered a contest to win a full scholarship to art college. Sketching isn’t a desirable vocation in her community, so Anna does her work in a remote spot by Pebble Creek and stores it in her beautiful hope chest. Only her family’s farmhand, Jesse Beiler, knows her plans—and that’s by accident

The bishop’s son, Jessie is surprised to discover Anna’s contest entry form. He can’t imagine wanting a life beyond having his own farm and raising a family. Still, he admires Anna’s spirit and promises to keep her secret, despite their differences. Yet the better he and Anna get to know each other, the more they find their personalities—and their hearts—complement one another. With Gott’s guidance, can they forge the futures they desire—together?

Welcome to my author page! I write heart-warming stories with Amish characters; I grew up near an Amish town and began interacting with the Plain Faith when they custom made our kitchen cabinets. Since childhood, I've been fascinated.
I dream up stories that I love and hope that my readers will love them, too.
My HOPE CHEST OF DREAMS series features wonderful female characters, and my debut
book, REBECCA'S BOUQUET, got a starred review from Publishers Weekly.
I've been blessed to have been raised by Christian parents, have been on five out of seven
continents, was once a high school teacher, and love horse and buggy rides almost as much as I love tomatoes from my dad's garden!
You can message me on facebook or on lisajonesbaker.com. I may be a little
slow to respond, but I will get back to you. Thanks for reading my page, and enjoy REBECCA'S BOUQUET, ANNIE'S RECIPE, and RACHEL'S DREAM!
Blessings,
Lisa Jones Baker

My Thoughts...

I loved going back to Pebble Creek. So excited to see what Baker had in mind for this next book in the Hope Chest Of Dreams series.
Are you all ready to go back?
I can't wait for you to find out if Anna and Jessie find love.
I loved thinking about Sam and remembering him. Wishing he was here to share his wisdom.
If you have never been to Pebble Creek, that's okay you can read this book as a stand alone. It is a quick read and you are going to want to read them all.
I gave this book 4 stars. I recommend it.

Rachel's Dream By Lisa Jones Baker

Patience, faith—and the hopes and dreams within their hand-carved hope chests—help to bring three young Amish women, one by one, the blessed futures their hearts desire…
Rachel Kauffman and Jarred Zimmerman seem to have nothing in common. She’s the outgoing youngest of a large, close-knit Amish clan, and longs to raise a brood of her own near those she loves. Estranged from his family by tragedy, Jarred is a young veterinarian who trusts the animals he heals far more than he trusts people. However, when Rachel’s beloved horse falls ill, Jarred’s struggles to save him show Rachel he’s a man who cares deeply. And the respect he feels for her gentle warmhearted ways soon becomes an irresistible bond…

When Rachel tries to help Jarred reunite with his parents, it is an unexpected blessing—with one complication. If he takes this chance to put his past to rest, it could separate him and Rachel for good. Now, with prayer, love—and her hope chest’s small miracles—Jarred and Rachel must find the courage to reconcile their wishes into a joyous life together.

My Review...

Book three in the Hope Chest of Dreams. What all of us Baker fans have been waiting on. Is finally here.
Rachel and Jarred's story is one that you won't soon forget. And who doesn't love a story with miracles.
Baker has away with bringing the Plain and the englishers together in such away that you don't feel like you are reading a book.
I gave this book 4 stars. I recommend the whole series.

Rebecca's Bouquet By Lisa Jones Baker

First in a new series
Three young Amish women, gifted with hand-carved hope chests to hold their treasures and their dreams for the future, find the inspiration they need to help them reconcile love and faith in the most unexpected ways…

The last thing Rebecca Sommer dreamed her plan to wed would bring is a heart-wrenching choice. She thought she and her betrothed, William, would spend the rest of their lives in Illinois’ heartland, raising a family in their close-knit Amish hometown. But when he must travel far out of state to save his ailing father's business, Rebecca braves her relatives' disapproval—and her own fears—to go work by his side. And though she finds herself ever more in love with the dedicated, resourceful man he proves to be, William’s growing interest in English ways may be the one challenge even her steadfast faith can't meet…

William knows he couldn't ask for a more loyal wife-to-be. And the bravery that helps Rebecca tackle every obstacle makes her even more admirable. He simply won't ask her to sacrifice her deepest beliefs, no matter how right they are for each other. But the patience and care that crafted Rebecca's hope chest is somehow showing them there's more than one way prayers can be answered—and hearts brought together forever...
