Guest Post By Delia Latham

This is a post for an author, not a review. I have not read either one of the books in this post. This is NOT a giveaway as all of my reviews are.

Delia Latham shares two new inspirational romances

“They’re short and sweet, but I’m very excited about both of my new releases through White Rose Publishing.”
So says Delia Latham, a multi-published author whose titles include the Solomon’s Gate Series (White Rose Publishing) and Goldeneyes (Vinspire Publishing). Delia is currently swept up in the promotion of two new ventures—a novella and a short story. Both of these lengths are “firsts” for this author.
Treehouse released in September 2012. It portrays the budding romance between school teacher Tim Kerschner and landscape architect Ryann Dean. What’s tucked away in the branches of a solitary aspen tree may lead these two headstrong people to love—despite everything they do to get in the way.
Jewels for the Kingdom is the first novella in the Heart’s Haven collection—four books by four authors, all set in the same location…the fictional town of Angel Falls, Texas, and more specifically, a special cottage-rental complex owned by a man known to be on speaking terms with angels. Love somehow finds a way to touch all who enter Heart’s Haven, and each of the four books in this collection features a couple of Heart’s Haven tenants who find themselves caught in its grip.
“Angels keep appearing in my books,” Delia confides. “I never planned for that, but apparently God had His own plan. And since I’ve never claimed to be anything more than a transcriptionist for the stories He writes, I’m hardly in a position to argue.”
The Heart’s Haven collection began in September, when Jewels for the Kingdom released. Operation Breathless, by Marianne Evans, followed in October, and Tanya’s Leap of Faith became available in December. January 2013 will see the release of the final book in this set, Mary Manners’ Dance with Me.
“The four of us are delighted by the reception the collection has received so far,” Delia says. “We’ve set up a Heart’s Haven Facebook page, and have been blown away by its success. So much so that another set of Heart’s Haven stories is already in the works!”
This first collection has a Valentine’s Day theme—and since it culminates in January, the timing is perfect to set the mood for real-life romance in February. Readers who need a little nudge down the moonlit path of romance are encouraged to take a little side trip to Heart’s Haven. Start with Jewels for the Kingdom. Pia and David’s story will whet your appetite—and that’s great, because you can move right along to the next books in this e-Book series.
There’s never a wrong time to stir up that romantic fire between you and your true love. No matter how long you’ve been in love, or how new your romance, make it special with these stories of love and angels, interwoven with basic Bible truths.

Blurb from Treehouse:
Tim Kerschner’s attachment to a solitary aspen on property he inherits goes much deeper than aesthetics. Can he make landscape architect Ryann Dean understand his refusal to let her chop down this single tree in a forest of them?
Ryann loves her job in Bliss, Oregon. Junior high teacher Tim Kerschner, on the other hand, she’d be happy to have never met. The man’s handsome face loses any appeal in light of his arrogance and obvious inclination to violence—the latter of which Ryann despises for reasons close to her heart.
A visit to what lies within the branches of the controversial tree could give them both a whole new outlook on life...and on each other.

Blurb from Jewels for the Kingdom:
Pia Peretti’s past could destroy her future. Thanks to her pre-Christian lifestyle, she can’t marry a believer, and she won’t marry a non-believer. Minister David Myers wants to help Pia release her guilt and trust that God has forgiven her...but the young minister is working through his own trial of faith.
After a failed counseling session with a wounded soul, David's confidence is shaken. He accepts a new pastorate, and moves to Angel Falls to find a haven for his wounded heart.
Is it possible these two hurting hearts are meant to mend each other’s brokenness with some divine intervention?

  1. Mary, I was going to get these two books I am so glad you were honest with us and told us you did not read them. I will wait and see if you read them what you think about them before I go buy them. I have never heard of this author.

    1. Hi, James! I will freely admit to being more than a little biased about books written by Delia Latham. I'm one of the Heart's Haven authors, so our friendship and writing lives are quite firmly entwined. :-) However. Let me assure you, Delia Latham's novels have had a profound impact on readers. They have garnered extraordinary reviews from numerous review sites, and the way she captures both character and plot are enough to keep me reading her novels, whether I worked with her or not. (and when I first got to know Delia as an author, it was strictly as a reader, not as a co-author/colleague...) Hope this helps. Check out her books on Amazon and see what other readers have to say. I don't think you'll be disappointed whatsoever. :-) God bless!!

    2. Thanks for that sweet vote of confidence, Marianne! :) It's been a pleasure working with you. It kinda feels like we know each other, even though we've never met in person. You are a blessing to me.

    3. I can personally attest to the amazing abilities that Delia Layham possesses as a writer (among other things). I have read Treehouse, as well as everything else she has written and all of it is a treasure and a gift. I highly recommend her books and feel confident that all who read them will feel likewise. My life has been richly blessed my what I find between the pages of Ms. Latham's stories.

    4. Thank you, Mary - and everything you just said, right backatcha! :) I've been tremendously blessed with wonderful friends during the writing of the Heart's Haven books. I felt from the beginning of the project, and still do, that Heart's Haven is a God thing. :) Thanks for stopping by!

    7. May I say a few words about Delia? She is my FAVORITE author. I have read hundreds of books for review. Her Goldeneyes was my first by Delia. She is, was, and so far there is no competition, will remain my FAVORITE author of all time. Delia is a godly woman who lives what she says and writes what she lives. She's seen me through some tough times--like the death of my daddy--and I've never met her. Let me assure you, EVERYTHING she has written is touched by the Hand of God. You can NEVER go wrong reading a "Delia Latham" book. The Hearts Haven series is a WINNER! All four authors have a bond that is obvious. I'm so thrilled to know there is other series entries in the future. I've decided I should live in Heart's Haven. If you want to immerse yourself in godly reading and love series (as I do) you will be thrilled with the purchases. Each of these authors have wonderful books, but, as I said, Delia was my first, and is my favorite. I've read all her books, including the one for children I purchased for my granddaughter, and I give them as gifts! My soul is so excited, and rested, when I read a Delia book!

    8. Brenda, you're so precious! Every author needs at least one reader exactly like you. You say I've seen you through a lot, but it's been mutual. You've been what kept me writing during times when Satan would have stolen the words.
And hey...when you get your place in Heart's Haven, go ahead and reserve the cottage next door for me! :) Love you!

  2. I am with you James, I have to wonder why Mary did not post a review of these books, all of her post are interviews or reviews. Maybe she did not like the books, and did not want to hurt the author. This is a new author for me to.

    2. Mary, how kind of you to post Delia's books here. I'm so impressed by the devotion of your blog readers and how much they value your opinion. Even though you haven't read Delia Latham's books, I'm sure this post was no accident. Your gift for reaching readers is wonderful and I'm sure if they read the excerpts of her books on Amazon, they would trust that your post was true to form!

I'm an avid e-reader user, but still love the touch and feel of books too!

Continue to bless readers with your posts and wisdom!

  4. Hello, everyone! I'm so for the confusion. I understand my post is a bit different for Mary, in that she hasn't read the books. I so appreciate her helping me get the word out about my two e-Books.

I'm going to send a free e-copy to someone who comments on the post. And I want to stress that you can find all about me and my books on my website at delialatham.net.

  5. I am one that follows Mary on the blogs and do go by what she suggests. This is how I learn about new authors and their books. For one reason, she has great judgement but also I know I will be spending money on a good book as I like many have very limited income

    1. Hi, Patty! I haven't had any complaints from readers. :) As to the e-reader...well, I'm learning to love it. It's different, and of course, it does have pros and cons, but overall, I'm loving it. It IS the wave of the future, so I think it's important to get on board.

    2. Delia, will these books ever be available in paper back? I for one, love books to hold and to read. I don't have a Nook, Kindle, or ereader of any kind. I don't down load books to read from the computer because I have severe motion sickness at times (the scrolling makes me sick! I'm so bad that people can not rock in a rocking chair in my sight or I get sick over that too! I know I'm not normal but I am lovable!!...well that depends on who you ask!) and if I read on the computer for any length of time I will get a migraine. Trust me, I'll do anything to keep from getting a migraine!

    3. Hi, Judy! These books are not scheduled to go to print as of right now. (Anything under a certain length is made available only in e-Book.) However, I do have other books that are available in print that I hope you'll take a look at. :) Just search my name on Amazon, or visit my webpage: www.delialatham.net.

I also suffer from severe vertigo, so I completely understand what you're saying. I've learned the things I can and cannot do, and yes - I'll do anything to prevent an episode!

      Thanks for asking! :)

  11. This sounds like a fabulous book and I can't wait to read it. Delia, you are so gracious to offer a free download to a commenter. I would liko do the same thing. If the blog host will draw a name and give the info to you, Delia, then you can contact me and I'll make sure that person gets a download of one of your books.

A suggestion for those unsure about downloading a book by someone you're not familiar with:

You can always read a sample before you buy. Or you can try to get your local library to get a copy. I'm sure the author would love the opportunity to reach new readers through the library.

    1. What a sweet offer, Suzie! I appreciate your support.

Actually, I completely understand being hesitant to purchase books by authors you don't know. Money is hard to come by these days, and it's so disappointing to purchase a book and find that you really don't like it. That's why I think Amazon's "Look Inside" feature is a wonderful benefit to readers. I definitely take advantage of it, and I encourage other readers to do the same.

  12. Is it pretty standard now for all Ebooks (at least Amazon Kindle) to do a free first chapter or similar sample? I know they have worked for me to want to buy the book.

THanks for the heads up Mary. I'm going to go take a look.
I hope you have much success, Delia!

    1. Thank you, Mary! "Success," to me, means that my books reach the audience God intended them to reach, and that they touch hearts and uplift and encourage my readers. That's always the goal...and the more books that sell, the better I chance of meeting that goal. :) Thanks for your comment!

  15. I am looking forward to reading Delia's books. I met her in a Heart's Haven "Facebook party" last week, and she's so friendly and welcoming. I'm well acquainted with Marianne Evans and Mary Manners, who are members of the Hearts Haven group. Both are very gifted authors, and I'm thinking that Delia is probably in that same category! Besides, it's kind of like "word of mouth," which I still strongly believe is the best advertisement. (And now I'm repeating myself...excuse me for being a litlle weird, but I'm a writer - being strange is part of the package. :)

    1. Thank for stopping by, Robin! Your comment made me realize the same thing about myself. I do review some books, but most of the features on my blog are simply that: features. Letting readers know about the book, so they can make an informed decision about it before purchasing. And yes, who the publisher is lends a lot of weight as to whether I'll post the feature on my blog or not. Needless to say, I LOVE to feature authors from Pelican Book Group - my own publisher, because I've learned to trust their wisdom and taste in a book's value.
