Interview with Latonia Price Author of To Mother An Angel

Are you currently dealing with the tragic event of stillbirth? Do you know someone who may be experiencing or has experienced stillbirth? To Mother An Angel: Overcoming Stillbirth is the true story of how one woman overcame the emotional event of stillbirth. This story shares intimate details about how she dealt with: -Shock and Numbness -Sadness and Fear -Anger and Frustration -Trusting God Again Her story is a Testimony to empower and encourage others. Although the emotions are overwhelming, it is possible to overcome and live after such a tragic event. Latonia Price endured the loss of her first child to stillbirth. She is committed to sharing her testimony and using her personal life to encourage and empower others. Latonia is a woman of faith who is striving to become a Transformational Leader. She is the Wife of Rev. Iradel Price. She is a Mother... to a beautiful baby girl - Charlotte Evelina Price - who is now an angel in heaven.

I'm a wife to Iradel Price for over 8 years and currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am a mother to a wonderful daughter who is our angel in heaven: Charlotte Evelina Price. She was stillborn at 38.5 weeks on August 23, 2013.

Growing up, I was not raised "in church"; we didn't attend church regularly or have official membership to any local church. However, my parents taught me the basics about God and Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I was 14 years old and diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer; mass in my colon) that I discovered my birthplace of faith! From the age of 15, I had made it up my mind to learn more about Christianity and living a life where I can continuously conquer the negativity of this world!

I've been blessed with amazing opportunities but I've also endured very difficult obstacles! I'm very well-educated and served in ministry and the community for over 15 years in various leadership roles, teaching, speaking, and other volunteer events.

Now, I continue to serve by helping others! I truly love God, my husband, my family, and life!

1. Tell us why you wrote this book?
When I was going through my own healing process, I started searching for books to read. I love books that are empowering and encouraging. Well, my search ended quickly when I couldn't find what I needed. It's not to discredit the books that doctors have written about overcoming overwhelming grief. However, I already understood the path to mental and physically healing. But I didn't know the path to spiritual healing after such an event and that's when I decided to write and birth my story. For healing of myself and others.

2. What is the most important thing you hope readers take away from reading your book?
The most important thing that I want people to take away from the book is that it's ok to be human. As Christians, we're often seen as invincible and that's a lie. When life gets tough, our faith is shaken. Sometimes the recovery of our faith is quick. And sometimes it's not. We talk to God a lot and many times we don't always agree! Being a Christian isn't about being perfect. So I want anyone who reads this book, Christian or just curious about the Christian faith, to know it's ok to be honest with God and know you too can live a joyful life after any tragic event.

3. How much of yourself do you write into your characters?
My book is all about me! I don't hold back about how I really felt. At first, I was apprehensive because most people know I'm a minister's wife, I've accepted my calling as an evangelist, I am actively involved in ministry, etc. But then I was empowered to not hide my flaws but to allows others to see them so we all can heal together.

4, If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
I'm not sure, really! Lol! I will admit I loved watching Superman growing up. The ones with Christopher Reeve. But I honestly like a lot if action adventure movies; certain dramas like Rocky (favorite Rocky is the 4th one). I'm a 80s baby so that's what I grew up on so...yeah! Lol!

5. I am a dog lover. Tell us about your pet if you have any.
I am a doggy mom! We have a pure bred Rottweiler named Thor. He will be 4 years old this July. Huge baby!! Seriously! Lol!

  6. I absolutely can't imagine the pain she must have gone through! I am a mama of two incredible teen boys and just the thought of them not being here with me on Earth is enough to shed tears! This book sounds like it will help others in this situation, however. I'm glad she's found the peace through writing it.
